Well... after last nights 3-0 win at Fulham I am suddenly feeling a lot better about this game! Anfield is a tough place to go and Sunday will be no exception.

Liverpool v Chelsea is a rivalry which has really developed over the last 10 years to 15 years. The Mourinho era, our numerous Champions League battles, bad tackles, goals scored when not crossing the line, 8 goal thrillers... you name it, our meetings have pretty much had it. I would say it is now a rivalry which supporters of both sides care about quite a lot. Last night at Fulham there were chants referring to Sundays game and many if not all Chelsea fans dislike Liverpool and likewise the other way around. They still call us a 'small club with no history' and we are a vile club full of scum according to many on other Liverpool forums. This rivalry has grown a lot and is fuelled with lots of passion.

And Sunday will be no exception. Anfield is known for a cracking atmosphere and Sunday will be just that. Rafa and Torres back to Anfield, Rodgers against his former club, Chelsea fighting for the Champions League and the odd scouser may thing they can still get a top 4 place (though not likely)... There is a lot to play for unlike this match last season. So the atmosphere will be brilliant. It is a complete sell out in both the home and away ends... It could be special. It will be my first time to Anfield and I'm looking forward to it a lot.

Suarez is obviously the danger man for Liverpool while Mata and Hazard can cause the best teams in the world huge problems on a given day. Coutinho in midfield for Liverpool looks a gem while Torres seems to be finding some form with his mask! It has the makings for a cracker.

Lets hope that the inevitable minutes silence before the game if not for Hillsborough but for Anne Williams who fought so hard in the Hillsborough campaign passes without incident.

Predictions? Line ups? I'm going for a 3-3 draw. I feel there are plenty of goals in this game and as a Chelsea fan, I would take a draw if offered before start of play. One thing is for sure... this rivalry will surely produce another cracker on Sunday with a sensational atmosphere.

I used to hate Liverpool more than any other team but since Benitez left I've no problem with them that much to be honest. The "you've got no history types" get boring but they are fading fast and they've got nothing over us now we've won the CL and even less so should we win the Europa League and become the first club to hold both cups and first English club to have won all European cups.

A lot depends on how Arsenal and Spurs do, we only need to match their result really. I think Arsenal will win but can't see Spurs winning, in the unlikely event they do then we obviously need to win this game or draw at least.

A lot more pleased to be going there with 3pts from Fulham. A draw would not be the end of the world but they aren't playing well for a team that has nothing else to play for.
Out all the cups early doors should have meant they should have done much better in the league.Just shows how poor they really are. Can't believe that having spent 40M+ this season that their fans think 7th is progress. With only the league to worry about its abysmal really.

Exactly their fans may go on and on about 'istoreee but did they ever win the Cup Winners Cup? Will they ever have the chance to win all 3 European Cups? But then again we're just a small club anyway...

Their fan base can grate on you a bit as mentioned on here but I don't have too much of a problem with them. Their middle age glory hunters are the worst kind of fan though.

The stats do show that 7th is not a great return for 40 mill, but...... rebuilding takes more than 1 season, and if Brendon has the backbone he wants in place, then some fiddling next season just might lock in the final pieces to lift them up a step or two.
This is something we need to learn ,and quickly. Rome wasn't built in a day. When we get the team we want, playing the way we want, then each season only requires minimum rebuilding. We try to replace half the squad every year and never build, only change. It works, sort of, but boy it's wasteful.

I agree. My comment was made towards Liverpool fans who are constantly claiming that this has been a season of progress for them. It hasn't. I'm certain that had Dalglish only had the league to play for he would have had a much better points total than Rodgers is going to produce. With one game a week to play they should have done much more IF they're progressing as the deluded one's proclaim.

Got to say, I bloody hate Liverpool and I hope we give them a good stonking. Unfortunately, they always seem to rock up with one of their best performances against us. Add to that, FSW and Torres being there, and I've got a feeling it could be a little lively.

A win at Anfield would put us in with a better than average chance of finishing 3rd, never mind scraping in 4th at the end of season.

I know we have a decent squad (bigger and overall better quality than Liverpool), but I'm guessing we've probably played at least 20 more games than them this season. Let's home that no sign of fatigue is shown this weekend!

I get what you mean and agree, not much progress visible.

Mark Lawrenson's prediction is a 2-1 win for Liverpool! If Liverpool achieved all he predicted for them throughout the entire season they would be Champions by a large margin! My view is that I wouldnt have nightmares if we came away with a point, but I wonder if Rafa wants to prove a point where he is hero worshipped and go allout for a win!

LOL Lawros prediction league table has QPR in 7th, above Spurs!! <laugh> What a doughnut!

Obviously dont want to lose this match, but it really depends on the results that Arsenal and Spurs get. I can see Spurs dropping points this weekend, so a draw or even a loss probably wouldnt be the end of the world.
Its going to be interesting with Rafa going back to Anfield.....I see a score draw. 2-2

Hard game as pointed above, they do seem to put in a performance versus us.

A great weekend would be to at least match the results of arsenal and spurs, whether that be a win, lose or draw. Not inconcievable that all 3 could draw, which I would take right now no question.

I'm gonna go for a 1-1 draw. Suarez and Lampard.

Hoping Ba starts. Torres has been woeful in the games against Liverpool since signing and they'll give him loads of stick if he plays.

Ba would be sensible to start up top... Mata and Hazard defo in the trio but not sure who else... Moses was really poor against Fulham and recently Oscar hasn't been great either! I'd put Lamps and Ramires in the middle. Then for the back four... Azpilicueta at right back, Cole at left back if he's fit with Terry and Luiz in the centre.

I think if we play like we did against the team from Putney then we'll be fine but Liverpool always raise their game and the atmosphere is always brilliant when we play them.. I can't wait!

On Sunday before the game there will be a minutes silence for Anne Williams who lost her battle with cancer recently. I know what happened at Wembley last season but lets remember that that was before the truth came out. This isn't even about Hillsborough... this is about a lady who lost her battle with cancer in the fight to find the truth so I really hope our fan behave themselves. Unfortunately I have a bad feeling there will be some who could disgrace themselves... I'm going and I don't want what will be an incredible atmosphere and game ruined from the start

2nd this, well said bucks. There will ultimately be a few scumbags who will spoil and disrespect this silence which is why I don't agree with a minutes silence and think it should be a minutes applause. I hope the normal minded amongst us are big enough to tell those booing exactly what they think IF it happens.
