DATE :SUNDAY 09 APRIL 2023. VENUE : ANFIELD TIME 16:30 SKY SPORTS. This is a must win game for Liverpool for any hope of top four finish. Referee: PAUL TIERNEY please log in to view this image The Premier League recently confirmed that Paul Tierney will be the referee for Sunday’s high-profile clash between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield. However, the news is unlikely to go well with both clubs, considering they have had unfavourable decisions in the past with Tierney in charge. Back in September last year, Arsenal suffered their first league defeat of the season at Manchester United. Marcus Rashford bagged a brace in a 3-1 win for the Red Devils but the dynamic of the game could have been entirely different if VAR did not intervene. The Gunners took the lead through Gabriel Martinelli in the 11th minute but the goal was chalked off for Martin Odegaard’s challenge on Christian Eriksen in the lead-up. Meanwhile, Liverpool also had a similar moment in December 2021. Jurgen Klopp clashed with the referee after a string of dubious decisions. During a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, Andy Robertson was sent off for a poor challenge but Harry Kane avoided punishment for a similar offence. In the same game, the Reds were denied a penalty for a foul on Diogo Jota. There were no surprises that Klopp lashed out at Tierney and got himself a booking. Klopp was spotted by the cameras telling Tierney: “I have no problems with any referees. Only you.”
The only question is:. Will we win by double digits,.or triple digits. Also, has anyone seen my acid?

We must be one of the easiest sides to play against in the Premier League at the moment. Low on confidence, no backbone in midfield, full backs that are all over the place and a tendency to watch players stroll past them like show pony Grealish in the city game. Why can’t we go out and just compete 100% for every ball and let the opposition know they are in for a real fight. Other teams seem to be able to do this to us but we have lost the winning mentality
Away from home…. However at anfield 7-0 v united 2-0 v wolves 2-0 v everton 0-0 chelsea 2-1 leicester 3-1 southampton 1-2 loss v leeds 1-0 west ham 1-0 city 3-3 brighton 2-1 newcastle 9-0 bournemouth 1-1 palace 5 wins and 1 draw in last 6 since we lost 2-1 to Leeds. 1 defeat, 3 draws and 9 wins. 2nd or 3rd best home record in the league.
Fair point, but why is our away form abysmal? We have lost to Forrest, Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Wolves , Man U, City and more. How we escaped from Stamford Bridge with a point, I don’t know. Arsenal will be interesting, in a good way I hope but I think we need to manage our expectations
It’s a mystery and one klopp needs to sort out of not this season but for next season 100% But we do have a great home record. We’ve beaten city & United. We’ve won against big teams in the CL as well so for what ever reason we are still a tough team to play at Anfield.
We simply have to beat Arsenal. By hook or by crook. The confidence a win will give us will provide some momentum and a slim chance of top 4. Lose or draw we are fighting for the Europa or Europa Conference league. 2-1 Salah
