The best Arsenal striker of all-time, judging by goals to games ratio?

 

Van Persie.

 

Park Chu Young. (Seriously)

 

I like your thinking ... but no. Not Van Persie either, his record gets nowhere close.

 

Damn, i felt sure it was park. 1 goal in 3 appearances (or something like that)

 

Ted Drake.

 

I know Thierry Henry has something like a goal every 1.6 games ratio. But it would be too obvious to be him.


Frannie Jeffers? (as if)

 

Surely he was too prolific (i know defences back then aren't what they are now)? The question leads me to think it was someone crap, who played about 2 games for us.

 

Ted Drake, 139 goals in 184 games ... very impressive. Still only 0.75 goals per game though.

The striker I'm thinking of has a ratio of 0.89 over 112 games for Arsenal.

 

So it's not an ironic question then?

 

No ... but I did like seeing Park Chu Young being suggested as the best ever striker for Arsenal.

Kelly Smith. 100 goals in 112 apps. In the Premier League ... 73 goals in 66 appearances. That's more than 1.1 goals for every Premier League game she played in. That's a stat worth appreciating. And she's pure Arsenal.

Just thought it was worth posting to highlight the fact that we don't even have a general forum for women's football, when we're Arsenal. We're the Daddy, Mummy, Grandparents and God-Uncle of the game. Seems odd to me. We're all Arsenal fans, after all.

 

Can we sign her for the mens team? I know shes getting on a bit now, but surely she's got to be better than Chamakh? Just make her wear a fake moustache, and all will be well.
