Sky are reporting that we have had a bid for Boro's Leroy Lita rejected.It is claimed our initial bid was for less than a million. Could Brendan use some influence with Steve Gibson,the Boro Chairman who was with him on the Kilimanjero trip, to secure the signings of Lita and Emmnes?
hmmm lol! I was really impressed when Emnes came down on loan, Lita on the other hand i've heard has a bit of an attitude issue? Don't like those types i'm afraid.
The Emmnes thing has been rumoured since his loan spell, not heard of any actual offer being made. As for Lita he's one of those instantly dislikable characters, like Ledley.
I,m glad we had a bid turned down for Lita i think he would be a very disruptive influence on the squad and hope we don't improve the offer. Looks like Brendan has asked Gibson up Kilimanjaro about Lita and Gibson has said you get the price right and he's yours.
Lita's a bit of a journeyman so there must be something about him unsettling. I'd rather we looked elsewhere than Boro. Didn't think Emnes was that great and certainly don't want Lita.
Please please please please. Dont sign Lita. He isnt good enough for the championship yet alone the premier league. I will be gutted if we sign him. He is an arrogant, lazy moaning t**t and i for one want a player like that nowhere near our squad. We have a great atmosphere there and dont want idiots like him spoiling it. I watched him at us and on sky and all he did was moan when any pass wasnt on his toes. Sorry i guys i am disappointed at this news.
LITA????? I would have to question Buck's judgement on that one. Bit of a come down from some of the players that we've been linked with, for sure. Bad attitude; questionable ability at the top level, I would sooner go with Moore and Beattie who do fit in and doubtless will be busting a gut to try and cement a place in the team. Emnes? I don't know. Obviously has some quality but, for me, the price would really have to be right......
Emnes in all fairness done well as the lone front man, he didn't get much settling time with the squad but seemed to fit in quite well. He would be good cover for Dyer or Sinclair if needed too. Please no Lita though!
What does this say about Moore and Beattie. Beattie I might understand because of his fitness / injury problems. But Moore, can't see this doing his confidence any good.
Apparently we were close to getting Lita in January and he was also very keen on the move, prepared to take a pay cut to join us. Brendan is a big fan of his and thinks he'd fit into our system perfectly, he also thinks tha attitude thing was a problem only in Litas early years and that he is now a far more mature individual. Regardless, I'm still not keen on the lad.
Still don't want the guy his record isn't the best. Would much prefer we take a young hungry lad from one of the top 4 clubs and take him on loan.
It's looking pretty unanimous regarding Lita, I'm not a fan of him either, think I'd prefer Emnes, to me he was like a young Jason Scotland!............ please log in to view this image
No thanks to Lita - good player but attitude is a major worry. Also, I'd like to back Emnes. Great mobility, hard worker and very positive attitude. I also seem to remember that the boys liked him too so that's another bonus to his signing.
I dont think he would be that bad a signing IMO. Can imagine that buck is more than capable of ironing out a perceived attitude problem, if there even is one. He obviously wouldn't be starting but I think he would be better cover than Beattie and Moore (although Moore did improve a lot towards the end of the season)
