The Cold War might be over. But with the sabre rattling going on by the country led by an ex KGB colonel who described the collapse of Communism was the biggest disaster of the 20th century a warmer war could be on the horizon.

 

The only redeeming part of the DM is Peter Hitchens' opinion pieces which are quite good, even if I disagree with him on a fair bit.

This threads too long to read. What's Lily Allen preaching? That taxpayers should be forking out for these refugees? If so he's got a point. There isn't enough money as it stands, it would be far better spent on these shores.

If it was just a high profile appeal for people to make their own personal charitable contributions then fair enough.

 

His dad's in Birmingham he isn't. I think he should be allowed in to be with his dad. It's not difficult to understand.

 

Missing the point, Obi. Is his dad here legally for a start. There are are tens of thousands here illegally. Should their wives, parents, children be allowed to join them?

 

I'm not missing the point. If his dad is here illegally then his son should be allowed in to join him so both can be deported together.

 

And the odds of someone being deported foreign here illegally are? We can't manage to deport murderers, rapists and career criminals.
