Everton,Celtic and QPR have been put on alert by the news that Liam Ridgewell's move to West Brom has broken down. This would be a major signing in my view!
Agree Hoopton, he always seems to put in a performance and i for one would be very happy to see him in our team. He can also play in several positions which is a bonus. He would be a very good addition and wouold not break the bank.
Slowly coming to the conclusion that we may well only sign a couple of players before the deadline. I think 4-5 is unlikely now. Ridgewell would be decent though, but would probably choose the like of Everton over us.
He's from Bexleyheath so more likely supported Charlton or West Ham. Probably said "QPR were my 2nd club as a boy" - most people seem to! Jamie Mackie broke his leg in a shocking tackle a couple of years back so such a move may not be the best for esprit de corps.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/1770594/Birmingm-1-QPR-0.html?print=yes The Blues did have the ball in the net early on but Liam Ridgewell, a boyhood QPR fan, had handled and it was left to Phillips to score against the run of play just before the interval. --------------- Surely we're in a decent position to sign Ridgewell, someone should ring Warnock and get him on the case (If he is'nt already)
apologies. i immediately bow to your cerny-esque knowledge! think we'll be in trouble if we don't get 4 or 5 in.
Ridgewell would be an excellent buy, Roger Johnson would've been better! I think Wolves have got the bargain of the season for £5 million...
Accepted! But in all seriousness there's what, a week left now? We definitely need 5+ but the recent snippets I've heard of Warnock re: how hard its been negotiating and getting people in, leads me to believe we'll get 2-3 rather than the 4-5+ quoted. Sincerely hope I'm wrong though!
Be nice if there's a signing or two by Thursday, that'd boost the squad ahead of the 6 pointer at Wigan...
I'm off to the Reading festival on Thursday! Looking forward to it too. ....you really are in the know!!!
