No way Johnson would drop to the championship. I said we should put in a chancers offer for Lukaku last season. I think with hieder and probably cb added to the squad our strikers are settled.
Seem to remember a 16yr and a 18yr old full back playing for Liverpool last season (cant remember their names) with Kelly back fit I reckon one of those could well be available for loan.

Lawrence has just agreed terms with Pompey to terminate his contract so is a free agent.

I wonder if that is what MM has been waiting for.

To be honest we're more in need of 2 full backs and a centre back if Blake is leaving!!

It might be that MM will shore up the defence with the odd loan player.

On the subject of full backs, I see Quinny has signed for Donny.

I hope he does well there. While perhaps not quite up to the standard needed for Championship, his effort and commitment could not be faulted and he is one of those, like McNuggs, who will want to stay on the pitch and carry on playing even though he has picked up a knock. I think it was a home game against Leicester at home about 2 1/2 years ago, when Gypes got sent off for the rugby tackle that Quinny had to play the rest of the game at cb even though he was struggling with injury himself. Also, good from the penalty spot (not one I would have chosen to take a penalty) in our penalty shoot outs - could have used him at Wembley. <doh>

If Darcy leaves Quinny might have been useful to have on the bench although I guess Malky will be looking for players at a higher level.

P.S. Naylor not signed by Birmingham after trial.

Must have been not guilty then.

Daily Mail says Lawrence in talks with PAOK Salonika of Greece. Good luck with that then Liam, nice weather but getting paid.........?

Report in WoL says Malky has 2 or 3 more targets by 31st August and possibly 2 more in January.

Whitely quoted as saying a couple more squad players and one position to fill in the starting line up. I assume the last one would be one of the full back spots unless he's still after an out and out target man and sees Heider as back-up.

I'll worry about January signings in a few months time.

'The manager says he is still in the market for more signings, but revealed Portsmouth midfielder Liam Lawrence was not one of his targets.'

Quite happy with that, midfield is a selection headache as it is. I hope that we shore up the defence now and kick on with the new season!

Okay, we move on from there. Wonder who he has up his sleeve?

Definitely don't need more mid fielders but hope Darcy stays to ease some of the pressure on the defence.
