Thanks to Clive and Tramore for an informative write, and especially good to read such a positive one on our football anyway for a change..

Clive's bang on the money, as usual.

Great "wordy" report as always. It is always a much better read after a good performance.

However, I am shocked at the reaction to the Tozser substitution. How can you greet a player at home with boos after he scored a great equaliser at the last away match. Crazy! Who are these "fans".

Such abuse is surely a big reason why so many underperform at our Club.

I doubt he even heard it. I was in the middle of South Africa Rd and I didn't. All clubs have fans who give players stick.

But the opposite is surely true. Receive your players well, give them a song each, make them feel loved, and they'll lift their game. All part of a fan doing his/her job.

I am convinced that it has an impact why we seems to make players underperform.

If fans perceive a player not to be fully committed or playing well (e.g. Phillips, Hoillet, Henry, Perch to name just a few recent examples) he gets a negative reaction (e.g. boos). This undoubtedly affects his future performance, probably for the worst in most cases. The managers role is to man-manage this to get the best out of the players, and for the above names we can see it can work. Plus, I am sure that constructive support from the fans has a large impact.

I can understand fans, who pay good money to see QPR, have a right to make an "assessment" on a players. It happens all the time with cheers and groans. However I would draw the limit at constant abuse which is akin to "mobbing".

For me, it is unacceptable to boo "our" player when he takes to the field. Give him at least a chance before passing judgement. Plus in this case. Tozser did actually score a goal at the last away match.

Perhaps I am old school, but I believe that when a player puts on our blue and white hoops, then he is "ours". Plus the role of attendees at football matches is "support".

I was in a similar position, perhaps marginally closer to the school end (Block B/C), and I didn't hear it either.

I very much doubt that Clive is making it up (!) and it's such an incredibly mindless, ridiculous thing to do. It's not long ago that some idiots were booing Polter and thank God he's come through that and shown his worth.

I've never booed a QPR player in 50 years, not even Marc Nygaard, despite being hugely provoked by him.
