Just been confirmed by the club. http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/20140605-lewis-grabban-signs-for-norwich-city-1611501.aspx
Confirmed and updated on wiki already. Number 9 shirt, according to them - sounds ominous for the current owner of that shirt, RvW (It's Grabban, b t w ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Grabban
At least we've got another member of the club now who fans can regularly attempt and fail to spell the name of correctly...
Not sure what happened with him last season - he was a 1 goal in 10 game man for Millwall - sulked all the time and was absolute dog turd - never trained or played during Ramadan - we valued him at £200k and 2 years later he's sold for £3M - Saying that though, we bought Morison for £200k and sold him for £2.5M too
Please with this and good to see a striker coming in, which we all agree was needed. We need to ship RvW out now, pocket some lolly and maybe strengthen the central defence as Bassong will be on his way soon. Also a creative mid-fielder would be good.
not seen enough of the lad to know if this is a good signing or not. but judging from the glowing praise he's getting on twitter from bournemouth fans (and fans of teams he played against last season) it looks like we've got a good'un. quick, works hard, scores all types of goals... sounds like a fit version of james vaughan to me also, the ipswich fans are bitching about us signing him but equally think he's overrated, so he's probably good.
Here's a compilation video of some of his goals. Not sure it's a good idea to post this, it was the kiss of death for RvW last season
yeah saw that on you tube earlier cromer, a good mix of goals there. there's also a long-range effort vs Bolton that's not on that file. you're right - re-wind 14 months and we were all creaming over RvW highlights at least this chaps played in the right league before
Here is a little bit more about the new signing I found on the skysports website: http://www1.skysports.com/football/player/4280/lewis-grabban
Improvement on Elmander and on much lower wages. Happy with that as long as it doesn't mean Hooper is leaving.
I wouldn't have been overly disappointed if we had signed him.. in fact I would have been quite pleased, but that said £2-3 million is a big wedge for someone who has been more miss than hit for the past 7 years. Particularly when you consider he has had one 'good' season in which his stock has risen rapidly. That said some players just need the right environment to flourish having been bang average for a few years and suddenly everything clicks for them. Grant Holt being an example so could be just what player and club need right now, though I'd say the price tag muddies it a little but if he gets you back up then it will be money well spent.
ditto this, I have only really seen him once at portman road and he didn't excite me but on the otherhand you must be doing something right to notch 20 odd goals in a season, I would be more gutted if you boys would have signed Matt Richie from bournemouth and got Eddie Howe as manager.
