That should be the role of the Dof, but it depends on the Dof earning that right as I'm pretty sure Levy is hoping for Baldini to take more control and he will play a big part in hiring the manager but the Dof has to earn that right to take more control as really the Dof should be selecting the manager and then working with the manager to build a squad, thats how its designed to work.

We have a Dof to thank for Jol, but then we have a Dof to "thank" for making Jols life difficult, so its a system which can have its positives but also negatives and then you have the old school approach of Redknapp and Levy was made to work harder then ever.

If Baldini is a success then you will likely get your wish of Levy stepping back but hes played such a strong role since Enic took over that he is always going to be involved somewhat, just he knows hes not a football man and I don't believe hes trying to be something he isn't as he surrounds himself with people who give him advice on footballing matters.

I agree with that Boss. I think the reason that Levy likes the DoF structure is that it gives him the 'footballing man' that everyone agrees that he needs and also provides more continuity if managers leave. However, for a variety of reasons it has not exactly been a success so far (although in terms of signings generally increasing in value we've done more than OK on average). Baldini looks like a class act to me and Spurcat seemed to think very highly of the steps he took when he first came on board, so I've got high hopes for the future.

If Baldini is any good he should use his contacts at Roma to persuade their manager that a move to Tottenham would be a good idea.

Judging by our last dealings with Roma, the compensation package we agree would make Italy an economic powerhouse.
