Got his nickname for being strong and tough , something we could use in our team F C Twente was the last team he played for before coming to the Premier : 71 appearances , 21 goals . At one time playing for Norwich he won player of the month after 4 consecutive MOTM 's and weren't his only MOTM's for him for the season . In his last 18 appearances of his season with QPR in the Premier , when QPR finished last and the team was sh:tting the bed , Fer scored 6 goals ... a third of the teams goals in that timeline . I think Guido will shape this guy into a player we will want to keep, I'll let Fer's play do the talking , and not former dejected fans as Fer dropped with them out of the Premier . Welcome big guy ....
I think that to be fair Breezy some QPR fans have acknowledged the guy is talented but he hasn't been trying very hard for them. That's probably true and is bound to piss them off - look at us with Shelvey - but something isn't quite right at that club and hasn't been for a while. I think the guy has everything to prove and it won't cost us a great deal as a loanee. He'll either fulfil his promise or cruise along and take the money, in which case he's history come the Summer. He's a lucky boy because he's been given a chance out of that Division and not many get that. It's his to lose provided he's given a chance.
We may turn out to be the lucky ones Aussie ....like you say , time will tell .But if I was a betting man , I'd be betting we will be wanting to sign him permanently come summer
Where do you get your numbers from. this one is from Soccer base. http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=55742 Here are a few more figures, like passing https://www.whoscored.com/Players/35174/History/Leroy-Fer and a few stats from this http://www.espnfc.co.uk/player/113083/leroy-fer I actually think this may be a good signing, if we get his head in the right place.
So the 71 appearances and 21 goals were for who exactly. I am not doubting but struggled to find those stats, he does score a few goals.
71 games and 21 goals is in the Twente part of his wiki , not sure what the 71 games include , being the bouncer is in the Dutch section and MOTM references is in the Norwich section .The 6 goals in his last 18 Premier games for QPR is from soccer base .I counted the goals in those games and QPR scored 18
I have just looked at Wiki and it says 47 app 12 goals still not bad over all 203 APPS (INCLUDING SUB) 38 goals Ah I see at the bottom it says 77 apps 21 goals, all a bit contradictory on wiki I would be more tempted to look at soccerbase. Found this one as well mate they are all quite a bit different, anyway he still scores a few goals. http://uk.soccerway.com/players/leroy-fer/24308/
My guess lefty is Fer played 24 games and scored 9 goals for Twente other than 1st team starts He was 20 or 21 years old when he arrived...just a guess though
Fer looking to sign on for good with us in the summer. Signed in the summer of 2013 for 4.5 million at Norwich . Signed in the summer of 2014 for 8 million at QPR . With QPR not getting promotion this season , I don't see getting his signature being much of a problem .He has another season after this one left on his contract with QPR , I'm thinking 6 million is what we will pay for him in the summer of 2016 . Paloschi and Fer are a huge hit for our new team already for August ( pretty sure we will be safe after 38 games this season ) and with a few more summer additions and time to gel the team , I'm very confident for next season . And especially confident in Fer if we get him .
It may be a bit less than that if they want him off the wage bill, how long left on his contract, that may be a consideration.
One year after his loan is up , got a real good feeling about Fer . The sharpness , quality and thought put into that pass to Siggy was a bit overwhelming to me , thrown in his flexibility to positions he can play and his physical attributes ......he's perfect to our needs .
