Matt, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like you made a pretty poor point, got challenged and then pushed your argument past the point of your own beliefs to the place we're at now. It's ok, most on here have done that.
If you want to sing the national anthem then join in and if you don't then don't. No need to complain at people that don't want to sing it for whatever the reason. It is a free country after all.

I think it's a sort of 'reflected glory' thing with him. I sort of reciprocated initially out of tit for tat boredom, but the novelty's worn off. It's a bit like next door's little terrier that always wants you to throw the stick for him.....
