You have got to admit we have been missing him in the striking force tbh. Hes one of those players who on a good day can be pretty good, shame he doesnt have pace but he has an eye for the ball and can slot goals in (unlike shola)
He's got good pace. He isn't fast, but he isn't slow. He's got great positional awareness and gets into great positions to score. He's been unlucky that some of our team mates decided to shoot rather than pass to Best when he had a simple tap in, and they missed. He's a good striker. We should sign better, but he's proven he can score a canny load of goals. He's definitely going to be our 3rd choice striker next season as hopefully we'll sign 2 gooduns.
Would be happy for him to be third choice striker next season if he carries on putting in the effort he has this season. Hopefully we will sign two quality strikers though, because I wouldnt really fancy relying on him for first choice.
Yeah he's been better than Lovenkrands and Shola, but that doesn't mean anything as he still isn't good enough. I'd keep him as back up though and flog the other 2 chancers
I think its imperative next season that we keep Shola and Lovenkrands away from the pitch as much as possible. The toon army chuckle brothers.
can't help but feel sorry for Lovenkrands with all this abuse. Him and Best had a great partnership going IMO and having to play with Shola has made him look very bad
If he wasn't completely anonymous in almost every game hes played this season I might have some respect for him. Even Shola has been better and thats saying something. It baffles me when people defend him, it only seemed like he was playing well wit Best because Best was playing so well on his own, Lovenkrands just happened to be beside him.
When the team plays well Loverman plays well. He's not the sort of player who can change the game by himself but he gets into good positions and just needs the others to pick him out
Best is our CURRENT BEST striker. I'll be fairly happy with him being 2nd/3rd choice(depending on how many strikers we sign) next season. He can improve unlike Lovenkrands and Ameobi who are reaching there sell past dates.
ive been to a few games this season and i have to admit loven has been VERY unlucky, like people have said when hes with BEST he shows something, against birmingham shame it was abit wet because bartons balls towards loven were spot on just ashame he couldnt get a hold of the ball.
I think we'll find out today just how out of his depth Lovenkrands is. Comon son make me eat my words.
IMO we need to ditch one of 'Best', 'Loven' or 'Shola' next year. I'm hoping we sign a big strong lad, like this Cheick Diabate bloke, and maybe a smaller, quicker player to play off him. These two would start together every game and learn to play well together and hopefully grow a good understanding of the way each other plays. Then perhaps in the Carling Cup we could play the other two that we kept, lets say Best and Ameobi.
