The Independent have a nice piece on Len following his recent death. His time at Fulham was before even my time and I mention him for two reason really; he played a big part during the 1948/49 season when we were Champions of the then, second division and that was the year (one of my heroes) Bedford Jezzard joined the Club. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/len-quested-footballer-both-feared-and-fearless-8196437.html
Yes one of the greats,if only we had him now,i am sure with his ability and fitness level he would have fitted into to days game. never saw him at FFC but watched him playing against us. The last survivor of the 1950s promotion team. One of my current golfing partners is the nephew of Jim Taylor, one of the formidable post war half back line of Beasly ~ Taylor ~ Quested, who said in his opinion Len was one of the best defenders of the immediate post war era. R I P Len.
