We need to start monitoring some centre halves

Don't worry, we will do plenty of 'monitoring'................ we won't sign anyone but we will monitor the **** out of a good few players.

That Schar signing looks very important now.

Hopefully we'll go for another cb too now. Probably that freebie Mexican international. Still, Clark needed upgrading eventually anyway.

I don't think Clark has ever done much wrong. He's a good member of the squad for me.

I wouldnt want to rely on him for a long stretch of games. He seems a level below Lejeune & Lascelles. As Lejeune is likely to miss a considerable portion of the season, we need better. Hopefully Schar proves decent...

He was prone for some absolute ****-ups towards the end of him being a regular and seemed to be the only player left incapable of understanding not to aimlessly clear your lines unless under pressure.
He was crucial for us in the Champ like but he can't replace Lejeune for that stretch, lacks the concentration.
As Tasty says, hopefully Schar's the answer as I don't see us getting another CB through the door. I feel the term 'stock-piling' will be used.

Did we not sell a centre half last week?

We replaced one. There’s a difference. We’re at our quota of Purple CB’s....

Absolute joke, know you can't predict that stuff but just shows Clark should have been shipped out before Mbemba, any manager worth their salt could have seen that. Now if Lascelles is injured/suspended we end up with Clark - who is dog and Schar who is a complete unknown.

Bad luck for us. Schar will need to step up and we could do with a season long loan to cover Lejeunes absence too. Clark needs to be 4th choice as he looks suspect at this level.

We do have Dummett of course if we sign a left back but I’d rather we got another option on loan - stretches an already tight wage budget of course.

I was thinking Dummett would step in if needed as well, but can't envisage us signing further defenders as we have Manquillo.

I can't really see any further incomings unless we sell Lascelles or Gayle, in which case we will get a loan replacement.
