Leicester v Pompey

Listened to the match on Radio Leicester - can't get Solent here in Kent. The commentators were so downheartened I laughed all the way through the match. However they did keep making the point that our players look really tired but were really scrapping hard to win the game. The price of a small squad I suppose. And boy....... can't our lads make a lot of noise - 1001 Pompey fans against 25000 Leicester fans and mostly I could hear the Pompey chimes! Good stuff. 6 points off the play-offs now.

 

at the game today, love it when pompey come up and visit me in leicester and give me a lovely gift in 3 points. not a classic; but we took our one real chance of the first half, worked well to kill the game. defending strong in 2nd half and just one lapse moment where i think yak got through on goal but good save from ashdown, well worth our clean sheet. could have been a bit more comfortable in the closing minutes if wardy had put the sitter away but held on job done. safety virtually certain which is what we all really wanted; and still only 6 points off play offs; all to play for?

 

ps. none existant atmosphere from the home fans. barely heard anything from fat drummer in 2nd half, safe journey home to all our fans

 

I heard our lads were having a disco!

 

for most of the 2nd half yes, sun out; summer disco, leicesters poor finishing also lead to many a quashie chant which ive sorely missed lately

 

apart from that one chance yak was anonymous, where as nuge was making constant threatening runs and a lovely finish, just shows how a little confidence can completely change a player

A great result in a match for which I always put us down to lose when I do the predictor. I think it's the first time we've done the double over Leicester for over 80 years, so they had it coming

...and on the back of a defeat and a draw it's good to see Happy Meowth again!

I know it is really a very outside chance and that we would really have to win all our remaioning games, but, could we actually be play off contenders?
