I remember Bristol city being 14-15 points clear of us and absolutely imploding and we overtook them and they didn't go up. its still possible for you to drop into the playoffs,
Since I've been condemned and redeemed without even posting on this thread, I might as well add my thoughts... All teams in this league can go on a run. In terms of the pace setters, it was us first and then Burnley and now Leicester. The real trick is reducing the time you're off form and picking up points at the same time (ie battling through). The three top teams have done that best, hence the likes of Derby, Boro even Bolton (plus more) that have had good runs of results are further back (to widely varying degrees). It's unlikely that any team will go unbeaten for the remainder of the campaign and I think we'd do best focussing on each game and working towards our best-guess target of points required (cerca 90 IMO) for automatic promotion. That said, I'll sleep easier if we keep ahead of third. Leicester will probably go on a bad run but we don't know how bad it'll be and an 8 point headstart is an enviable one.
We do all know that there are "2" automatic spots up for grabs right? I don't give a monkeys if QPR do catch us to be honest, as long as Burnley or anyone else don't too. If I was offered 2nd spot now for promotion Id snap your hand off and thank you. Keep waiting for this apparent Burnley bubble burst but they keep picking up points. Long long way to go but enjoying the ride.
