View attachment 21629 vs Today see's Chris Powell make his return to were he began his coaching career when we take on Leicester City at the Kings Power stadium. Our poor run continued on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat to Hull and we have now gone 4 games without a win and taken only 1 point in that time. Leicester last game was a week ago today when they lost 2-1 at home in the Fa cup to Huddersfield so they will have the advantage of being better rested. It will be a big game for both our manager Chris Powell but also Yann Kermorgant however the latter I have decided to put on the bench as I believe if we are going to play one upfont Fuller offers us the most. Leicester are top of the form table in the last 6 games and with us only having one point in 12 its hard to see us getting a result in this game.
Nice Thread, gutted about it, I go to university in Leicester but I'm not going to the game despite living a 10 min walk from the ground simply due to: 1. I'm a student and poor and not paying £18 a ticket 2. I'm not paying £18 to see us get spanked by Leicester and do another poor performance as we have recently. 3. I'm going to the Forest game at the weekend so rather only see us play badly once in a week rather than twice. Saying that we'll probs win due to me not going, Don't think it will happen but sod's law it will I'm going for a 2-1, not sure to which side but Kermo to get on the score sheet certainly, wish I was there to hear the reception he got, oh well, COYR
The outcome is likely to be predictable unless we ring some changes from Hull. I would go with: Hamer Solly Morrison Cort Evina BWP Pritchard Stevens Wagstaff Kermorgant Haynes Subs Button, Taylor, Evina, Wilson, Jackson, Harriott, Fuller Probably to attack minded for some but putting BWP on the right might just make him tick.
Expecting a sound thrashing. Sadly my tip for a relatively pointless February is looking scarily accurate. Only one so far and not sure where the next one is coming from. We got away with it big style against Leicester at home and I fear this will be payback time. Concede early and this could be four or five. Lose at home to forest and what chance the Slater/Jimenez Saturday night chat turning to "Fancy an Italian?" I'm in good form this morning. Hey, we'll probably win!

I can't see us getting anything from this. I've sort of given up on this season. I fully expect us to finish mid-table, however part of me wants us to get sucked into the relegation battle to make the end of the season more exciting but then staying up with a game or two to go. Although conversely, I'd be quite happy if we went on a winning run and had a chance of scraping a play-off place on the last game of the season and narrowly missing out. As we aren't good enough to go up. Despite having a season ticket I didn't attend the last home game versus Birmingham, partly down to how deflated I was left feeling after the Sheffield Wednesday game, partly down to the fact that it was freezing outside and partly down to the fact that Tottenham v Newcastle was on Sky that lunchtime. Based on tonights result / performance - i'll make my decision whether I attend on Saturday against Forest. I fully anticipate a defeat tonight though.
To be honest, Fuller is injured from Hull and BWP has gone out on Loan. Think we're going to be setting up like this: Hamer Solly - Morrison - Cort - Evina Dervite Wilson - Stephens - Jackson - Waggstaff Kermorgant Subs: Button Prichard Taylor Haynes Wiggins Green Fuller (if fit) I doubt that we'll get much from this game. Though I can see the team putting in a performance, or least a few of the players (1) KERMORGANT!
alright change of plan, after annoying my dad he's forked out the money for me to go, So if anyone is going I'm probs sat on my own, look out for a student sat on his own in the away end but got a good feeling about this, COYR
Looking at the forecast for tonight, a Polar Bear would be right at home round here. Just off to Waddon Road to watch Gloucester City vs. Halifax Town - with about four layers on... Last time I saw Halifax, Killer scored a hat-trick -the one with that goal.
Charlton Athletic FC ‏@CAFCofficial Charlton: Hamer; Solly, Wiggins, Cort, Morrison; Dervite, Pritchard, Stephens, Jackson, Wagstaff; Kermorgant.

Happy enough with a 5 man midfield, with Dervite at the heart of it. Not sure about the lack of pace out wide. I wonder if Wagstaff will be operating on the left or right? In which case will it be Pritchard on the right-wing or Jackson on the left-wing? Not best pleased with Kerkar on the bench rather than Harriott. Hope Kermorgant gets at least one goal tonight. Always had a soft spot for Leicester, and they're in a sense my 'second team', but I love Kermorgant a hell of a lot more
1) Maybe Kerkar is in the shop window to get loaned or transferred? 2) Harriott played a full match yesterday and apparently gave it 110%. His time will come, maybe very soon.
I like the configuration of this team and the right players could be in the right positions. The problem is that some of them are just not good enough, but with our budget we have to mend and make do. If we are still in the game by the second half it could come down to CP's creative use of the talent on the bench (Evina, Wilson, Fuller, Haynes). Ooh err ... that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. (Haynes and Fuller to come on in the 89th minute when we are three down?) Vital that Dervite doesn't sit too deep and confuse the CBs and that Stephens plays further forward than usual.
1) If we want to put Kerkar in the shop window, the last thing we should do is give him a chance to show anyone what he's like on the pitch 2) Even so, the Championship is of a much higher priority than the U21 league, so ideally he wouldn't have played yesterday. I do hope his time will come very soon. From his two brief cameo's earlier in the season he showed us he has an awful lot to offer, at least in the last 15 minutes where his pace and trickery will give defenders a headache.
Due to my sadistic generosity the son & heir is at King Power tonight to give me a 1st hand account of how we perform. Hope he enjoys my £20
