I was wondering whether, had Tony taken over a couple of weeks earlier, DJ, Jay, Gabbi and Dyer would actually be at the club. Interesting to see how they perform ( though Dyer already right side cover for me, will need injuries/ suspensions to get a game) in the run up to the January window - some might feel under threat already - hopefully this will spur them on. Thoughts?

Think DJ and probably Bothroyd would still have been targetted, doubt Gabbidon would have and Dyer definitely not.

Competition is the name of the game at this level, as well as that the subs bench can be crucial. I think we're in good shape to keep above the trap-door and I'm certain one or possibly two strikers will be on the January shopping list...

Yes, I think another striker in the Bothroyd mold will be required in Jan. Mackie, Smith, Campbell and Hewitt will all have to wait for suspensions/injuries to get their chance to fill the wide positions - such is the way we line up. HH is sadly no longer up to Prem standard, imo.
