LeicesterCity are the experts at going into administration and bending the rules, where do you think Bates got his ideas from?
Who do we have that is on huge long term contract? Only guy that could be on big money is Konchesky as he was a Premiership player but more likely he has a wage increase in his contract if we go up so is currently on Championship level wages. No one at our club is on Tal Be Haim money - I know this for sure as when we tried to sign Yukubu at the beginning of the season, he wanted £30k and we said no as it would have broken our wage structure - some gossip columns wrote that that was nearly twice the highest wage at our club if I remember correctly.
Big fox, Beckford was on 25k per week at everton, he is reportedly on 40k a week with you, the size of your squad paying on average of 15k a week would still be unsustainable if you relied on income.
If the average wage of each individual club was determined by the size of the club then Leeds would have a wage bill more than double that of Leicester's.
Brilliant, Pearson. What an insightful, intelligent and interesting bloke you are. Amazing edict which has thrown a lot of light on the situation.
No one is on 40K a week here. The only person who was is Yakubu when we had him on loan. We set a wage structure of 30K a week maximum and Yak wouldnt come down so we went elsewhere. I think the only players on 30K a week will be Nugent, Mills and Beckford
Where is that reported? Absolutely no way Beckford is on that - Yakubu was our top target in the summer we wouldn't pay 30k for him even though he is a well known international. Might be the case where he gets 40k if we get promoted but if that is the case then Pearson would get rid of him like he did with Yuki Abe who was on one of the higher wages. Also I thought that he was on 15k or less at Everton - reason he left was because he was wan't getting playing time and Everton operate on a bonus system (appearance, goals etc.) on their contracts.
Beckford received a 15k pay RISE to tempt him to move down a division, he is actually on 40k a week, numerous reports to back this up all over the Internet http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ps-summer-transfer-window-of-frustration.html http://twitter.com/#!/Thomkirwin/statuses/162169164952383488
Everton was hardly going to give a League 1 striker a massive wage. He hadnt played in the championship at the time and Everton arent exactly full of money. I bet he was on about 15K as Bigfox says
No one is on 30k - Yakubu was willing to drop to 30k and we wouldn't pay it. I think at least. What do anyone of us know about our players finances ultimately - no point in arguing about things we don't know so I shall stop it there. Rest of you carry on arguing if you wish but I shall start on a new topic: Do you think that our last game will mean anything - is there a chance that it could be the game that sends one (or both of us) into the playoffs or will it be a dead rubber?
Well that article is wrong, it says the deal was for an intial 3M when its only 2M. All the figures was massively exaggerated by the media as proven today by us release the accounts. Beckford will be on around 25-30K
Yak wouldnt go no lower then 40K, he said he has proven himself so he wants to be paid the full amount. He basically said it to a foreign newspaper or his agent did
25k - 30k is unsustainable, My point regardless of the figures still stands, Leicester without the backing of their owner would be ****ed
Exactly Like Chelski and Man City also, clubs that have bought success or still trying too - the club's so called wealth is relative to the owners wealth not the club's wealth as they would be ****ed if the owner pulled out! I've said this for years
In the long term it isnt sustainable but in the short term if you get promoted it will all be worth it. The owners have put their brand across everything and if they was the pull out it wouldnt look good on their brand and image is everything to them
Proud, I agree, but it makes the sport a bit of a joke if Im honest, Salary Caps will make it miles better.
If the current Leicester squad got promoted, without any further additions would they be good enough to remain in the top flight? If the answer is no then I can't possibly see how it is sustainable, your outgoings compared to gate receipts and merchandise sales must have one hell of a big gap even taking into account one season in the top flight and parachute payments. It is all ifs and buts as I can't see your owners pulling out however if they did you really would be in a worse situation than Portsmouth. You DO have a team of pretty good players, a better squad than the Leeds squad BUT they are not worth the wages being reported, even if Beckford was on £30k a week you are stuck with him until his contract expires, nobody is going to touch him for that much and Mills on 25k a week, he is with you until his contract expires too... Look at how much you have spent, look at where your club is, look at the support world-wide and look at how much more you would need to spend to get near competing in the Champions league. Honestly what is the long term expectation of the Leicester fans? Are you hoping to compete with Chelsea and Man City because it isn't ever going to happen. Some players want to play for scum, Liverpool, Arsenal as it is their dream, others want the massive pay day and Champions League football so they will sign for Chelsea and Man City, what players would Leicester attract should they get promoted? No disrespect intended but Leicester isn't a club with a great history, realistically the best you can achieve is mid table, you are not going to be competing with Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Scum, Man City your owners are going to keep throwing money into an empty pit, when will they realise and think enough is enough.
I agree with salary caps but the FA or the football league cant do it. If they did all the Van Persie's, Aguero's, Rooney's, Silva's, Wilshere's etc of this world would just go and play abroad where they could get better money. If FIFA put a salary cap across football then it would work but only FIFA can make it work.
