Charlton make the long old trip up to Elland Road tonight to take on Neil Warnock's Leeds United. Leeds currently occupy 9th place in the Championship and the yorkshire side have picked up 18 points from their 11 games this season. Their last outing was away to Sheffield Wednesday in a heated derby infront of the sky cameras. The game ended 1-1 but the result was not what had the whole of the footballing world talking. Aaron Cawley a Leeds United fan decided that when Leeds equalised he would enter the field of play and assault the Sheffield Wednesday goal keeper Chris Kirkland. As it has been mentioned on another thread I cannot believe he has only been given 4 months! Back to Charlton who went down 1-0 at the weekend to Barnsley. It was the third defeat at the Valley this season which is already more than the whole of last season.

    Previous Meetings
Charlton Athletic 1-0 Leeds United 01/05/2010
Leeds United 0-0 Charlton Athletic 03/10/2009
Leeds United 3-3 Charlton Athletic 08/05/2004
Charlton Athletic 0-1 Leeds United 29/11/2003
Charlton Athletic 1-6 Leeds United 05/04/2003

    Top Three Goalscorers-

    Charlton Athletic - Leeds
    2 Kermogant - 9 Becchio
    2 Jackson - 3 Austin
    2 Fuller - 3 Diouf

    Team to play Leeds -

    Hamer

    Wilson Morrison Cort Solly

    Green Stephens Razak Hollands Kerkar

    Hulse

    Subs
    Button
    Dervite
    Evina
    Cook
    Pritchard
    Wright-Phillips
    Jackson

Leeds away will not be easy and I predict a tough tough game although I also said that about Blackpool and look what happened there! The 12 points we have from the 11 games so far is the worst start we have had since the Premier league relegation season, so it looks like we are in for a tough season especially as we seem to be picking up injuries to key players. I want to try and predict this game but I have no idea what Charlton is going to turn up. If the team we have seen on the road this season turns up anything is possible. It is also worth noting that we are unbeaten in our last 4 trips to Elland road which is hopefully a good omen.

I'm torn as to who I would start tonight- if we are going 4-5-1 then I think Pritchard would be a better bet than Hollands. In a 4-4-2 he gets dragged out of position too much, but as there are another 2 in the middle he will be able to get away with that a little more. I also think with his energy he will get up and down the pitch and support the attack and defence better than anyone.

    Hamer (sigh)
Wilson- MM - Cort - solly
    Green - Pritchard - Stephens - razak - kerkar
    Hulse

I'd like to see the middle 3 sit a little more and allow green and kerkar to push on slightly.

Going to be a tough game- but I do look at Leeds and see a team that is beatable. They moved a lot of people on and warnock is doing a good job with what he has. Half of me thinks 2-0 to Leeds, the other says we will steal a 1-0. Leaning towards the latter....

    Hamer
    Solly-Cort Morro,Evina;
    Wilson,Stephens,Razak,Pritchard, JJ;

    BWP

JJ back out on the left again to help Evina. Wilson looks like the answer to our problems RM.

i'll take a ten tea bet with anyone who wants to, that he picks the same team as saturday (except fuller for bwp). he doesnt like change and likes to give his players at least half a game to redeem themselves....

Reading their board, apparently they aren't very good with weekday games. Leeds are one of the few places that are worse than us in the sense if they don't start well the fans get frustrated. We really can't afford a poor start, we need to stifle them early on and retain possession. But do we have the players in our locker to do that?

Probably true, but my team is the one I'd pick, which is more fun.

I'm not sure why I put Dervite in midfield there, that was just me guessing. We may go for 5-4-1 instead of the usual 4-5-1 away.

Either way, I'm glad Wilson gets a chance further forward, and that Evina finally starts.

Jacko is back as captain btw.

This is an interesting lineup and no mistake...

Good to see Dervite, Evina and Hulse get a start, but where the Hell is everyone going to play? <laugh>

You've gotta love The Good Doctor - there's never a dull moment around here.

Not even vaguely going to give a prediction for this one, I haven't got a clue.

Can't decide if team selection is bizarre or inspired! Good to see Wilson on the right with Solly but can't help worrying that we will be as vulnerable on the left as we will be strong on the right! Not sure Kerkar does defending so Evina will have to be better than CP evidently thinks he is. Don't understand the Dervite selection. Nothing against him but we are clearly expecting a tough night. Maybe he can pull off the Hughes role. Here's hoping but I fear a drubbing.

I'm going to go out on a limp here and say we're going for a draw <laugh>

It's a VERY defensive team, i'd imagine the only attacks will come through stephens linking up the midfield to hulse.

I'm going to go with 0-0... optimistically <ok>

Dervite has played Defensive midfield before. Think he even came on as a sub for us in that position?

I think the idea is wanting I get a hold I. Midfield. A lot will be expected of Wilson and kerkar- they need to push on and get crosses in to hulse, as this is where he is at his best.

Will either go horribly wrong, or oddly inspired

We look a bit vulnerable down our left. What are Leeds like down their right?

Late change to the Charlton line-up - Pritchard plays instead of Stephens. Don't know why.

Once again I cannot log into Player. Anyone else having problems? I think this started when my subscription automatically renewed a couple of weeks ago because everything at my end is unchanged.

Anyone got a live radio link?

    OK. I am in now.

Weird team selection. One striker and one attacking midfielder and that's your lot. Is the pressure getting to the Good Doctor? He likes to pack the defence and camp in our own penalty area for the last 10 minutes, but for 90 minutes?
