In fairness Bart doesn't have much choice. It's either him that lumps it up field or one of the defenders he passes out to. The end result is the same though, possession lost.

Yep. Bart’s distribution is not the best and never has been but it’s down to a lack of strategy from the gaffer. Every goal kick is an opportunity to create a chance and we have never, ever made any use of that this year along with consistently awful set plays further up the park.

Where is the desire and hunger from the players to show what they can do in these areas? Shouldn’t even need input from the manager. Sunday League players can put a decent set piece into the box.

The cut off point should have been 5 games ago, it's an.absolutely appalling record and anyone with any sense of dignity and self respect would have walked by now, The job was beyond Jewell and he stayed too long but at least he recognised the situation and walked. For Gods sake man go!!!

I'm going to give Hurst this, it's not down to him to walk.

If he walks, he gets zero compensation.

For goodness sake Evans pay this clown off, and pull the trigger tonight or tomorrow.

I'd like to wake up and find out Hurst has gone.

You and me both Westy, we've been saying it for weeks and got slagged off for it by the empty barrels, I take your point about not walking but I thought self respect would come into it, then I remembered it was football.

Another uninspired post match interview looking at the small positives in the game.
Please please Mr Evans, just suck this one up as a bad move and act quickly. Bring Burley and Klug in even if it’s just temporary.

Thought there was not much in it until we scored. It was the two players we had been missing - Hernandez and Roofe - who combined with a bit of class. I know you blame the defender but pass into the box was very well flighted and Roofe is good at getting a yard away from his man.

Not sure I really focussed on Ipswich, my impressions were CBs not bad, seemed s bit of weakness on right (RB I assume). Midfield seemed to move it around well with some purpose and someone did a good job not giving Sais any room to play. But promising attack’s seemed to go nowhere so I guess part of the problem is not enough quality upfront - goalscorers are expensive of course.

Best of luck for all but one game of the rest of season. Hope you beat Millwall too.

Disappointed to be right on this occasion.. Thought we looked ok at times and I don't think there's any shame in losing to Leeds at Elland road, particularly with the players (and Manager) they have. But frustrating all the same.

Can't see Hurst going any time soon either.. Especially this week with with a short turnaround in games and Evans with his reputation for giving managers time. I think Evans' plan all along was to give Hurst as long as possible, which will probably mean until Christmas

I haven’t heard the Radio Suffolk one, but the iFollow one for me was an accurate summary for me.

I've heard a few people complain about how boring the pressers have been under Hurst.. It seems an odd stick to beat him with when you have a whole forest to pick from in his management, signings, tactics and a whole lot else so far this season. His pressers are no worse than Mick's except missing the odd amusing quote and probably a bit too much honesty when a politicians answer would be better.

I think it’s just because the results have been so poor. It’s a lot harder to listen to someone picking over the bones of a defeat than someone who is animated and happy in victory.

Nah I'll give Hurst or any manager / player that. Clubs are quick to offer deals / with time etc.

Take Winston Bogarde at Chelsea - people say he ' stole ' £10 million off Chelsea on his £40k week wages over 4 years. Rubbish. They changed manager, they offered him the contract they deemed fair at the time - he turned up to training etc and knew he couldn't get as good terms elsewhere. When a club wants a player to go they are nasty shove in reserves tar the players name in the press. Fair play to Bogarde. No issue there.

Hurst has a family to feed and it may be the best terms he's ever going to get in his life - so that's fine from my point of view for him to want the best for himself - rightly so.

As soon as Hurst came in slagging off everything in the summer I was worried and thought he was a ****.

Never, however, did I see this on the way. Unreal.

I didn't see the game, but how did Edun and Spence get on? Worth keeping them in the team for Saturday?

I thought both Spence and Edun were pretty poor, to be honest. Spence struggled with Hernandez, the Leeds lad out wide, and they consistently exploited that channel in the second half. I was a big fan of Edun coming back into the team, but he didn't cover himself in glory and looked pretty rusty. We lacked any kind of bite up front, I think we only had a couple of shots on target and I can recall we only forced one decent save from their keeper. Chambers also looked very poor. Downes did not have a good game, and Nolan struggled throughout. In terms of positives, Bart's return went okay and we looked quite comfortably passing the ball around at times, but we lack a cutting edge and we make too many errors defensively.

Cheers Nuggets - i suppose in their defence, they're going to be rusty having not played for a month. Might be worth keeping the same team/shape against Millwall and see how that pans out. PH needs to find a settled team and stick to it for a few games

It wasn't a game where you can really pick out individuals. Hurst was praising Pennington but he made a couple of glaring errors. The whole side looked decent for 20 minutes and then poor for 70. The most concerning performances were Jackson and Sears who fluffed their few opportunities to make anything happen in attack.

With chopping and changing our best players like Dozzell and Edwards after a poor result, and Knudsen on the basis he'd played an international game, I've given up trying to analyse individuals and team line ups for now.
