Lee Holmes - Bournemouth

Not sure if above hs been mentioned, but according to Bournemouth Echo, a move to take Lee Holmes there on loan was unsuccessful.

Personally I think with the players we have in that position - AL/SDR/GDP/RD, it would have been good for him to go till say January.

What do others think?

 

Must be in Adkins plans. He played in our cup match, so will get some outings.

 

If can stay fit he will be definately playing a part this year.

 

50/50 on that one. Thing is, it's not about 11 players [oops, an Adkinism crept in there], but the squad, and Holmes has a place where he fits the bill.

 

I don't think we're as strong on the wings as people make out,so holmes should stay in my opinion.

 

He'll only get injured, so it's better to leave him on our bench where he may just make it through till Xams, without bothering the medical staff.

 

I rate Lee Holmes. Would like to see him play more often tbh.

 

I like LH, and feel he should be kept with the main squad and used to rest some our front line players when the opportunity arises

 

Holmes is obviosuly in Adkins plans so I look forward to seeing him more involved - always rated him, unlucky with injuries et etc

 

I rate him and think he has a good 'whole squad' role to play this year

 

With one wing still up for grabs after AOC left think holmes should have a chance aswell as de ridder and guly

 

he'll be important this year

 

Well Guly isn't truly a winger. He's just tricky enough to play there. But really he's an inside forward cum attacking midfielder. I'm beginning to like Guly more and more, although I gave him the benefit of the doubt way back during last season. He's typically Brazilian in that he makes the difficult look easy and he takes the ball into positions where you think... WTF..? But goals come from it.

De Ridder is a proper winger from what I can make out. Bags of skill, he's just got to find the pace of The Championship and his place in it. Holmes has got his work cut out with De Ridder in front of him.
