As a Chelsea fan I am struggling to come to terms with the fact we may have to leave our home of 106 years. What were your initial feelings when you had to up sticks and leave the home of your respective clubs?
I loved Highbury, the intimacy of the place and in SRO enclosure you could mingle with some really nice fans. I sneaked my camera in their once and with a long lens started taking pictures. Several fans made way so I could have a clear view of the pitch. Then there are those hallowed marble walls. While I loved Highbury I looked forward to the new era of The Emirates. Highbury was getting small too and a 60+k crowd was a better proposition for my club. There would be better facilities for the fans too. Look at it as a house move. You're going up the ladder
Its all about the stadium design. If Spurs stick to the design for their stadium at Northumberland Park, that would be amazing, the fans are very close to the ground. There is too much space between the fans and the pitch at the Emirates - wrong move - atmosphere lacking most of the time.
Ditto that Mr Head. The feeling of space in the stadium is well, awesome to quote an American expression but it's also kills the intimacy Highbury had.
