Lazio have a fanatical fanbase, Spurs in fairness are struggling to sell out league games so it's a problem across the board. 3 local games in a week just isn't affordable so many Spurs fans will have had to pick and choose games.

So they're all racists? Talk about generalising. I'm sure there are Lazio fans amomgst that contingent that were embarrassed by the chanting.

Maybe there were. The monkey chants were far too loud not to be at least a third of them and that's being generous. The chants at Defoe were as loud as they were all match.

Apparently Platini was at the game.It will be interesting to see if UEFA do anything about the fascist racist scum that support Lazio.I always remember DiCanio giving them a fascist salute when he played for them

Lazio and Roma is another myth dispeller. The media always portray the working class as more racist when in fact it's often working class communities that embraced immigrants who they had common ground with.

If I'm not mistaken Lazio fans tend to be wealthier and middle class in contrast Roma is more working class. Roma seems to embrace black players far more than their Rome counterparts. A great shame as Lazio is a great club.

I could never warm to Di Canio, not just the Nazi salute but other things as well.

There was a series on BBC2 approx 10-15 years ago about football hooliganism around the world. There was one programme about Italy and it focused on the part politics plays in the Ultras. Some clubs were regarded as communist and others as fascist/nazi scum.Roma drew their support from among others the Jewish community and were regarded as left wing whilst Lazio fans are dirty filthy racist fascist scum

Previous history suggests the crowd mikes were turned down to minimise the monkey chanting...apparently TV prefers to ignore racist chants.

I know this is a banter thread but this line is a bit wide of the mark....if you lot had 2 perfectly good goals ruled out I'd piss myself...If walcott was subject to monkey chanting at the emerates with the head of UEFA there who has still said nothing I would be slating him rather than mocking a quiet home crowd.

Not really. This is like you said a banter thread and serious subjects like that can be talked about elsewhere, because this thread is not the right setting for that discussion. Fact is your home support yesterday was piss poor and we took the opportunity to point that out seeing as you lot never miss the chance to do the same when we play at the Emirates. Even Spurs fans now think the atmosphere at WHL is poor. With the booing by your fans at WHL and the lack of noise, it's not been very good start to the season for you lot at WHL.

Wasn't suggesting a serious discussion mate...it's a banter thread...my point was that I think this was the wrong example...
    that's all.

Agree about the booing....maybe we'll get to make one of ours cry like you lot did with Eboue <run>

Considering the fact that the idiots who booed him were criticized by about 99% of Arsenal fans and Eboue is a cult hero. Yeah....<doh>

Sorry to poke my nose in here but from two different post`s i have gathered that there were enough Lazio fans making these noises to make themselves heard and that only one percent of Arsenal fans were loud enough to make Eboue cry so maybe there weren`t that many Lazio fans being racist?

The boring old 'Pulling somebody up for their spelling' trick. Often deployed when the poster lacks the intelligence for a witty retort. Never mind, it's expected from a Spud <ok>

So what are the odds on the wrecked juggernaut veering off the cliff again tonight at Carlisle ?
Anyone want to make a prediction for what minute of the game AVB will be on his Potty ?
