Been sacked by Swansea. Madness. However, he'd be a great manager for us I think. I know Rene's going nowhere (probably) but if he were to be moved sideways for anyone ML would be a great replacement.
That is insane, I can only think that they have a bloody good replacement ready and waiting. Right before the big game at the weekend as well.
Theyd announced back room staff changes earlier, ML was away from the club today. Awful decision. They aren't doing as well as lasy year but they are in europe too. Insane decision.
Probably the only manager I have properly listened to post match. Intelligent, open, sensible, honest comments. Him and Danny as MOTD residents and the BBC would be onto a winner. Has to be more to it than is being reported. Otherwise as everyone says, insane.
Must admit I wanted Laudrup, before we got Mark Hughes, as he was out of work then. Sounds insane, maybe he backed his coaching staff, as it was reported some where to be sacked.
I read that the chairman didn't think he had the leadership skills to motivate a struggling side. It was all brought to a head by Laudrup's decision to give the players a couple of days off (and take himself on a mini-break to France) in response to the bad defeat against West Ham. A couple of months ago I'd have been delighted with the idea of Laudrup as a future Fulham manager. One criticism that has been made of Swansea recently is that they aren't able to mix up their approach when things aren't working. That and the question marks detailed above concerning his leadership skills when things aren't going well would worry me.
Perhaps we could persuade him to be a player-manager. He'd do better than some of our current dross even now.
Yeah seems a strange decision to call off training for a few days and then nip over to Paris for a break. Imagine being the chairman and coming in one morning to find no one there !!!! That said he is obviously a talented manager but it does sound like his ego may get in the way of his progress, would still have at the cottage in a flash.
I've heard fairweather manager being used to describe him. Not surprised if he lost a bit of passion - not sure he was given money to build on his first season, although they did shell out on Bony. There was no outlay in January. He'll find work elsewhere quite easily, for whatever faults he might have his name itself is an attraction for good players.
Sack Rene, appoint Laudrup on a rolling contract until the end of the season including a MASSIVE bonus in there if he keeps us up. A man can dream, no?
