I see SYP have just "found" another 90 notebooks. Only took them 25 years...and we call these people "detectives"??

The whole thing is truly shocking. Let's hope that justice is achieved soon.

We all know how this will end.

There'll be a few token stooges who lose their pensions & take the brunt of the blame. The level at which decisions were made will be pushed much further down the slippery pole than was the reality. The families will get a payout & there'll be some pious politician speeches about what a disgrace it was & how lessons have been learned about every aspect.

Real justice will never be served here.

the truth is coming out though guys... already vindication was achieved, now the truth about the cops actions is coming out and it ill be damning.

altering statmenets is a criminal offense. there's no two ways about it.

Yep, but proving who did it & more importantly who authorised it, will prove to be near impossible

MITO, just look again at what you wrote. Yes, altering police statements is an offence. Whilst it should be possible to identify those people who made the physical changes, it is less likely that those who ordered, 'suggested' or pressured for such changes to be made will either be identified or charged.

Having said all this, at least there has been some vindication re the cover-up. Just seen that hatchet-faced cow Theresa Villiers on the news deadbatting any further investigation into the Omagh bombings. That's us up till Andy Burhman set up the Hillsborough investigation, after that snake Jack Straw (amongst others) did what the Tories are doing now.

We should be grateful we got this far, I suppose, but after 23 years I suspect the families won't fold now. Good for them.

Andy Burnham was not better than Jack Straw until the strength of feeling was actually demonstrated to him at a Memorial Service. As for the families they have never given up and they are not going to do so now. If you think otherwise then you don't really know or understand Scouse families!

We shouldn't be GRATEFUL that we've got this far. We should rail with the families at the failures and untrustworthyness of the system and the downright mendacity of those appointed to run the system. We need to shout even louder,as some of the families have been doing at the pace of progress. No we won't get true justice - we already know that. But we can take a few scalps with us and force the institutions to admit responsibility. After all, that was what the families set out to achieve - to get to the truth and to receive justice!!!!!

Oh, and another thing. The missing cctv tapes from the POLICE control room, which only the POLICE (including Duckenfield) had access to, were designated a crime # and listed as a theft. The IPCC and CPS could do worse than starting off there. Yes, before someone points it out, the Taylor report said they wouldn't hve shown anything that the BBC videos didn't show - but that isn't the point. The fact that a copper deliberately lifted them is in itself evidence of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

How many cops had access to that control room? Wanna bet that a now dead one is finally presumed to have lifted them?....

Agree with that especially the blame being shifted down on to those who will take the fall and get looked after behind the scenes when all is said and done.
