I thought I heard that it was because of a mix up of where we sent the payment to. We sent it to the Premier League instead of the FA or somesuch.
Sorted....It was sent to the Scottish prem league, but should have gone to FIFA as it was an international payment between two different countries...Do they know something we don't???
No it wasn't it was sent to the ENGLISH PL as is the norm for English PL clubs for domestic payments. It should have been sent to the ENGLISH FA which is where European payments are supposed to be sent.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28889519?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Dundee United: Hull City pay first instalment for Andrew Robertson By Jim Spence BBC Scotland Dundee United have received the £1m payment owed by Hull City as part of Andrew Robertson's transfer fee. The first instalment of the deal for the left-back was due last Friday and the Tannadice club had threatened to ask Fifa to intervene. However, Hull City commercial manager James Mooney insisted the delay was simply a misunderstanding. "We sent the money to the wrong place," said Mooney. "It went to the Premier League rather than the FA." Robertson left Tannadice in late July for a £2.85m fee, with a second payment due next summer. The 20-year-old Scotland international made a winning league debut against Queens Park Rangers last Saturday. United were angry that, despite several promises of payment, they had been made to wait for the first tranche of money. The Scottish Football Association were also involved in talks with their counterparts at the FA in England to resolve the matter.
no-one tells him how to run his business - sending £1 million to the wrong person - he can add that to his cv

Well Tom is a **** 'Chielf football reporter' he's just printing old news with the matter now rectified
Or he had access to the Dundee bank account before 7.00am this morning. This is just mischief making because they've got **** all else to do in Dundee, and this story will sell more papers then their usual Saturday morning "Local Cat stuck in tree" story. So it's "English Bastards try to rob us". This has been brewing since 1746.
I dont know why anyone at our end is getting uppity about this - it is massively out of order and embarrassing. Firstly we shouldnt have paid it to the wrong place - how does that happen? - and secondly it shouldnt take a week between realising this error and rectifying it. We havent denied anything here so we can only assume the accusations are correct. How would anyone on here react if someone owing them a large amount of money paid it to the wrong person and then took another week to rectify it? Basically, its ****.
I suppose this non-reciprocal exchange between Dundee United and Hull city serves as a good example of a "Robertsonian Translocation" error (for all you geneticists out there)
