Now then chaps After the defeat on saturday I am still quite positive with regards to this season and how we will do, I think a top 10 finish is definitely on the cards it was just one of them games we could have had 2 or 3 in the first half and I am sure goals will come. Just wanted to compare us to last season I personally think as a squad we are much stronger we have a stronger group of goalkeapers, a stronger group of defenders and a stronger group of midfielders we just aint as good as we were up top after the departures of Bent and Welbeck back to Man Utd. What we lack is a ruthless striker who knows how to put the ball in the back of the net aswell as a quality left winger, players like this do not come cheap but if the club have the ambition of the fans we will see atleast one good signing in the remainder of the transfer window who can kick us on that bit further. KTF HA'WAY THE LADS
The problem is striker and left wing were our 2 main problem areas last season and despite no fewer than 10 players being signed we still have the same problem. Some say we need a target man some say we need a poacher one thing is for sure we need something. I would also say that our defence was stronger last season as i rated the pace and power of Onuoha and Mensah as better weapons than the brains and experience of Brown and O'Shea. Obviously I hope I am proved wrong. We have strengthend the midfiels but Elmo is still getting a game when towards the end of last season he was a bench warmer. We signed Larsson for some width and quality delivery then play him on the left? In 2 games I aint seen the ****er kick the ball once with his left foot. Right footed players on the left can be of good use but only if they have pace or trickery to beat a man. Larsson to me is a beckham style right midfielder (Not saying anywhere near as good mind) he gets half a yard and whips the ball in so playing on the left completely nullifies his influence. I understand its early in the season and in effect we still probably dont know what our best eleven is but some things are so obvious that they actually border on the ridiculous. I still think Bruce is the man for us mind but he needs to learn quickly and stop putting faith in average players.
