Handled very well by the club. Obviously it shouldn't have arisen in the first place (the electrics were checked earlier in the day) but the Stewards did their best to keep the idiots at bay.

Made even more gutting by the Fail fans' reaction - they clearly knew they were going to lose - and the fact that such a good goal was chalked off. Murmurs that tickets may be refunded for the re-arranged fixture.

It didn't help matters that Shrews fans supposedly threw coins at Vale fans. Ashamed of people who do things like that.

I agree about the Vale fans, Lenny but it just shows how they felt the game was going that they celebrated like that. It was embarrassing to see their players go over to them like they did - what exactly were they celebrating? Their ridiculous reaction almost caused a pitch invasion and gave the stewards some problems. Never mind - we have beaten them twice already this season and we will beat them again in the third game.

I left before then, although I thought Vale fans were throwing the coins? Doesn't really matter, it's pathetic either way.

it was nice of uncle rowland to offer to sprinkle his hip flask on the fire. thankfully he was restrained by pugh pugh barney mcgrew and grubb but it illustrates how selfless our chairmam is, willing to sacrifice his lithuanian sparkling port to stem/ fan the flames. let us hear it for our chairman!!!!!!!
