What’s up with our skipper chaps?

He ain’t anywhere near the player we saw last year.

Has the summer interest turned his head?

Should we have cashed in when Chelsea apparently offered £30m?

I always thought he was over achieving. He is slow and does not read the game half as well as people think. The hype surrounding him scoring the odd goal and being Captain at a young age contributed to it.

    He cannot pass for ****.

Another over rated bang average player.

I'd say our best cb 3 is Schar-Fernandez-Lejuene

Granted Lejuene hasn't played but he was so good last year I can't wait to see him back in the starting line up.

    Yedlin and Dummy Wingback's
Kenedy, Diame, Ki, Ritchie with Rondon up top would be our strongest starting line up but not had achance to acctually use our strongest team so far.

Also leaves the bench looking alot healthier with GK Lacselles, Clark, Shelvey, Atsu, Murphy Muto as options

Lacselles is the worst central defender at the club. Always late for tackles. Ball watches.

Am I the only one who thinks he's decent. Has a bit of a nasty streak like all the good centre backs, good in the air, and I think he is a decent leader to be honest.

I think that potentially he is. It’s just that our Fan vase has whipped itself into a frenzy building him up to be world class.

Also think he’s decent. He’s not been in the best of form recently but is young (relatively speaking) and is coming back from injury.

Has potential but needs to work on some parts of his game. One thing I pick up on is that he is slow in moving the ball on. He takes, for me, too long to pass the ball particularly when passing between the defenders and across the the back line.

But he was good last season and given time and work I believe he can recapture that form and improve.

Oh my ****ing god. He is ****er than ****e. As a left central defender of a back 3 I would be happy, as a full back meh but as a wing back? No, no, no, no, no, no!

Some have been harsh here. He's not quite where he was I agree but he brings a lot to the side in terms of leadership on and off the pitch, he's good in the air and he likes to get stuck into the oppo. You do want a more footballing CB alongside him though.

For never being given the opportunity to show how good he really was.

I thought he dealt with Rashford really well... Until he scored!

Maybe he's fed up playing in a crap team?

Nah I rate him. The comments above are a bit bewildering to me. He's defo been out of form though. Still having a half decent season. Not been the same since that injury though. He played that hernia issue and then Rafa had him playing through one this season. He looks stiff as a board all of a sudden. He is struggling on the turn which could be a sign he still has issues with his hernia/groin.

As I say I still think he's done well this season, particularly adapting to new partners in defence and a new system.
