Been saying it for weeks these two are absolute liabilities. We can't pick up points if we are gifting the opposition goals, these two need to be out of the team if we are hopeful of getting a result against Reading. We were spirited again in the second half but again from a losing position. For the sake of our season these two need to see as little game time as possible. Tuesday is do or die and at the minute I fear the worst
Bardsley is accepted because he does put in 100%. Now, he is no way a good player but that's not his fault. He doesn't pick the team. Gardener is a better L/B but lacks pace (and probably needed in the middle) so neither is ideal. Larsson, Sat and watched him last season (every home game live and every away game on the box, so say 24 live games) and the lad, barring his very good 2/3 kicks per game (which a few went in the net) did nothing to contribute to the team. He could just about hide on the wing as a hell of a lot of our play was just booted up the middle to Bendner. In the middle he has no where to hide and in no way shape or form will ever be a CM. Again for Sweden. 2/3 kicks.
Want both of these nower near the first 11 Gardner is a far better rb than the overrated rubbish that is bardsley Larsson offers nothing apart from set pieces and I have to say they have been rubbish this season, personally think gardner takes a better freekick and aj a corner Move em both on in the summer, will create space on the wage bill and the money can go towards a good player
Sadly due to the state Brucie left us in we have no better options. Changing the manager does not magically give us better players. We got the MON effect for a while. However. We are making silly individual errors that are killing us. Who can we bring in at the moment to replace Larrson and Bardsley?
I like McBardo because he puts in a shift and kicks piss-takers up the arse, but there's no avoiding the fact that he's not first class. Seb does have class, but patience wearing very thin with him. Very thin indeed.
Bardsley will be the first to admit he made a mistake for their 3rd, Larsson would have pointed at someone else. He is by far and away the best RB we have, to drop him would be self defeating. Larsson on the other hand is easily replaced as he actually contributes little to the team.
Totally agree moorsley. Bardo at fault for first goalwitha cheap pass/give away. caught us totally on the hop. He is bizarrly a better left back? You say it's not his fault he gets picked but who would you play there? Unless we have a belting right back in the youths then who comes in. Can't take Gardner out of the middle. Also I'd rather Larrson played in the iddle than Colback. I see Meyler scored today. Maybe a recall is in order.
Agree, Bardo was playing well at L/B. Just not good enough though. Always rated Meyler but we need to buy some fresh blood. (who? I have no idea mate)R/B,CM and a CF. More worried than before.
You mean when he was given the ball surrounded by Chelsea players? Then he gave a forward pass and the players in front had turned their backs to play? Bloody hell he is our RB not Messi. Even Sess and Rose would have struggled to do any different from where he was with the ball.
Come on Mackems rule we all know the mantra of football, say it with me, "if in doubt kick it out!" ha. or hoof it, however don't tamely pass it to their player so he can set up a lovely counter attack.
I'm trying to think back, wasn't it Wickham gave him the ball? Then turned his back to play? I have said this before to often our players aren't passing and making themselves available for a return ball. Just in case!
I know I've seen that happen all season but for me Wickham is just young and perhaps expecting a miricle ball. Our other players however I couldn't agree with you more about the lack of movement or "showing"
Today Rose was showing after playing in McC and McC wasn't giving him it back quick enough. That slight delay was allowing the Chelsea defence more time to get organised. Just another one on Jimmy's list to get right.
I think you are well off the mark with this thread, David Bardsley continually puts 100% in and is the best RB we have and is one of the few players in the correct position. He continually has to try and distribute the ball to a bunch of statues with no appetite for receiving it. He also spends a lot of his shift trying to cover for the lack of pace in the middle of defence. As for Larsson, he is not a central midfielder and is shoved in their so Johnson can be played out of position on the right, just to accomodate McClean on the left. We will not make much progress until Meyler is recalled to the middle with Gardner, Johnson returns to the left, Larsson the right and McClean the bench for a while. This central midfield problem is the root cause of so many of the other problems.
I'm with this one. Bardsley is limited but gives his all, although we do need better and larsson has ability but is a bigger liability to the team as a central midfielder. We just need better players all over really, not just these two and it's hardly Mon's fault as he didn't buy them and has to work with them to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.
