With our strong Celtic connections and a host of new Glaswegian friends, I think we ought to brush up on the local language. So let this be the last plain English post and let's be havin' your Glaswegian ones. To set the ball rolling here's mine from an earlier thread:

Jesusjonny! Youse sleverin, ye glaikit teuchters. <laugh>

I am part Scottish, although family came from around Aberdeen so I still can't understand Glaswegian! <laugh>

Also, having a go at the reporter the other night after Adam Drury's testimonial is far scarier in a Glaswegian accent!

Is Cornish like Welsh inasmuch as what you see written down is nothing like it sounds when spoken?

To be honest Dave its almost the same as the Welsh language, there are many similar words. Mind you there are only about 5 people who can speak it!

"Jesusjonny! Youse sleverin, ye glaikit teuchters."

"For goodness sake! You're talking nonsense, you silly non-Glaswegian speakers."

You can substitute more colourful synonyms throughout, but this is the drift -- I think! <ok>
