Just noticed while watching skysports news they talked with him today lambert said in his fist lines people can look at speculation but I will never go I am happy here then he goes on about the fans how good they are you have to listen carefully at the start or you will miss the words I will never go. Great news isn't it
No offence at all to your thread, I am glad you posted this as it's a bit of news. But at first I was worried and couldn't understand why some fans were slating others that were worried about him leaving, but wow. This has dragged on for ages, would love it to just be put to bed. I was worried he may say yes to Villa but now he is obviously there second choice no way Lambert would want to go there now knowing he is their second choice. Lambert seems pretty committed to the course and I intend to appreciate him being here now rather worrying about him leaving. The rant is purely after realising it's gonna happen at some point, we just need to crack on get on with it and support him. If Lambert leaves, he leaves, but let's cross the bridge when we are at it, getting sick to death with all the speculation in all honesty and I think Lambert is too. Nothing against the thread at all, just my observation of it all. What will be will be, let's appreciate him for the meantime.
Never ? Hmm, I'm sure he is happy here, great club, great stadium, great facilities, great FANS. I'd like to think that PL could stay and make us a top six side, but let's not kid ourselves he will move on one day. You never know, if things start to go tits up we may well even sack him !
this is what we want to hear for sure, and that he is planning for next season. Does he have a holiday at all?? won't stop the media linking him with vacant posts.
If I recall last summer, I'm sure he said that he only had " a few days away". This man is a workaholic and that's good for us
Wait till he goes to Cromer for a weekend break or something. CC will probably kidnap him and have him installed as the Crabs' manager in next to no time
you've interpreted it completely wrong. he said exactly what he did to stuart jarrold, just more calmly! why make this up? we can all watch the bloody interview for ourselves!!
Phew!! Is it August yet? All this press stuff really gets me down because it is all abiut filling space and they end up writing b*llocks
the most interesting thing in the interview was how he suggested we might all turn on him if things go badly next season. now from a personal point of view i don't think i would ever turn against him after what he has achieved. i've honestly never had 100% trust in any city manager until lambert came along but i know that even if things got, shall we say, sticky - results wise, i think it would take a truly ghastly run of results - maybe 9 or 10 straight defeats - for any fan to start thinking 'this isn't working anymore'. it showed him in a good light though - he isn't getting carried away with what he has achieved at the club. i've had this inkling all along that lambert fancies he has a pretty good chance of winning something with us - nothing so far has changed my thinking
I think we would have had to have had a few seasons mid table in the championship before I though it was time for a change. Even then he would go with thanks and as a club legend. He's a clever man though and will know when he's not progressing he's never been fired, he resigned from Falkirk and Wycombe because he felt that he could take them no further.
I wonder if he does read forums like this one, it's clear McNally does from his latest comments. Whilst most of the participants on here have nothing but good to say about Lambo & the team, a few can get caried away and get overly critical. I know from personal experience when you are a subject of continual criticism and (unfair) comments it does eventually get to you no matter how thick skinned you are. Clearly everyone has the right to voice an opinion, but sometimes the "debates" on here and other forums go too far and become personal attacks.
i know i keep saying it and i must sound like a broken record, but i maintain that not only will he know when the time is right to move on, we all will too. i can't speak for all of you but for me, not once has it felt like its the right time for him to move on this summer.
