Was wondering if someone could advise me on this please.

I created a Ladrbokes account last night and made a £50 bet on Cirrus to win the champion stakes, however it appears I already had an account I was completely unaware of and have not used for years. Anyway they have now obviously closed my account and voided the bet which is fair enough, however they now state they will not refund my £50 stake, so have basically stole £50 off me. Is this even legal or are they trying to pull a fast one?

    Thanks

Never heard of that one, I would get on the phone to them and ask for rationale for their decision.

Contact I.B.A.S. (Independent Betting Arbitration Service) they will sort Ladcrooks out for you.

They are reputed to be the worlds biggest bookmakers, what a joke, earlier this year I opened an account. had 8 bets over a 2 month period stakes ranging from 10 to 25 YoYos Each/Way, I had 10 YoYos E/W on the winner of the Chester Cup Anti-Post @25/1 and 20 E/W on another selection which was placed at 14/1. So 8 bets, 6 losers, 2 winning selections returning a profit of approx 200 YoYos. After my 25/1 winning selection they restricted my 10 YoYo E/W bets to .50 Cent E/W @ advertised odd's!!!!!!

Interesting fact about Ladcrooks (Source Wikipedia)
    Investors
From 2007 onwards billionaire John Magnier and his business partner racing tycoon JP McManus have quietly been building a stake in Ladbrokes estimated to be more than 10%. In early 2008 it was discovered that another associate of Magnier’s' Joe Lewis had been building a stake now estimated to be approximately 7%.

So billionaire John Magnier and his cronies are robbing you of 50 quid & restricting my small stake bets, are they having a laugh! :headbang:

I'm sure you will get your dosh back eventually!
    Good Luck <ok>

Cheers for the advice, this is what they said to me, I never actually asked for my account to be closed so not sure why they seem to think I did.

I can confirm that your account has now been closed. You can re-open your account at any time by contacting us via email at [email protected], by phone or via our online chat. We are open 24 hours a day.

If you would like to prevent yourself from being able to re-open or create any new accounts with us, we offer a self exclusion facility which allows you to do so. You can find details of our self exclusion facility in our website.

Also, I understand that fact that you have made a deposit of 50GBP on the account, however, the amount is no longer active. Please note that once the balance has been consumed, it can no longer be refunded.

I would ask how they managed to consume it. Ask to be transferred to their Audit/Compliance Manager. Failing that report them as above.

They appear to be ignoring me know, I presume they are waiting to see if Cirrus wins. If he does they will void the bet and if he does not they will say the bet lost anyway so I am not entitled to a refund, scandelous really.

Basically you need confirmation if they are honoring the bet you have made or not. And you need this before tomorrow.
