Joe Martin had to go off just before half time today. He got a knock & ( although he returned to the pitch for a few minutes ) couldn't continue. Frampton went to left back and was given a torrid time by McGlashan. - sorry Andy - you're not up to the job. The injury highlighted our lack of cover in this area of the field. * East wasn't in the squad. I would have thought that he would have been a more natural replacement. * We definitely need to have adequate cover - or do I suspect that we might just have to wait and see & maybe hope that we can loan a suitable player if the occasion required.
Martin Allen would have been a bit more right on this occasion if he had used East when Joe Martin was injured ( I didn't see East pre match & the subs were not named by the stadium announcer ! )
Reason we lost the game, bar the school boy defending at one corner. We looked comfortable until Martin went off and then apart from their goalie kicking for touch down the left side all they did was attack down the right!
