I posted on a thread a while back that he's overrated and I stand by that. Great shot stopper but very poor with his distribution and just doesn't leave his line.

If there's talk of 10-12 million then I'd sell him. We could get Ruddy or Forster for about half of that amount.

He's had a terrible second half of the season. I agree that if we get a big offer then snap their hands off.

The young Dutch keeper we were linked with last year is meant to be very good too.

Overrated and has certainly stagnated due to a lack of competition and/or poor coaching.

I'd blame the coaching - He's not the only one who seems to have stagnated/ gone backwards

The irony is... his coach is Woodman.... who has coached his son to be a very exiting young prospect who seems to me the main man for the England kids too.
I blame Pardew and Ashley for bringing in that waster Eliot.
A strong number 2 is needed pronto.

I think Krul is showing why he wont be going to the World Cup.

It seems strange but Krul is in the take him or leave him camp for me. I wouldn't be upset if he left, wouldn't be annoyed to see him stay.
If he goes then I'd want top dollar and for him to be replaced, maybe Ruddy and or Forster.

There are a few I'd put in Krul's boat, Santon, Sissoko, Ben Arfa and Willo. Sell them if they are to be replaced adequately and if not keep them.

Only players I'd hate to see leave are Debuchy, Colo, Tiote and Anita.
I'd also retain youngsters with promise, everyone else can be sold in my opinion.

Krull is an absolute shocker when it comes to going for a cross as he rarely leaves his line ,and when he does he flaps. Can't see him going to World Cup.

I think he lacks confidence. Over the last season, and the first half of this, Krul was the best keeper in the league for catching crosses. Without doubt. Nobody else even in the same class as him. His ability to do that was the only world class attribute he had.

His shot stopping is overrated. He's too often laborious and slow to get down. If it's travelling a distance, and he sees it all the way, he can make a great stop, otherwise it more than likely goes in, unless it's hit straight at him.

But right now, his whole game has gone to pot.

It's pretty bad when your season highlights are condensed from one game.

So over a season what kind of marks do you think he deserves?

I said he was my biggest disappointment this season on the Chronicle survey, and I stick by that. I gave him a 3/10. Everyone knows I'm hardest on goalkeepers, but I think he's been a shadow of his previous efforts, and to be honest his previous efforts were just above average for a premier league keeper.

I remember days when I used to watch a Newcastle goalie (for a good decade) and think well, he's let in 5, but there was nowt he could do about any of them. But since Krul became number one, I'm left constantly amazed by how high some people rate him. Fabulous collector of crosses on his day, but below or just simply on par on almost everything else, including one-on-ones, decision making, kicking, throwing, punching, reflexes and he's pretty weak when challenged by opposing players.

His shot-stopping honestly varies, but I'd never describe it as world class. Any games you bring up to show he's a world class shot stopper are revealed to be quite a lot of tame efforts, shots straight at him, bungled away with legs. It's rare he makes a fabulous diving save, and we've seen so many Baines/Suarez etc goals that he hasn't even sniffed, despite him having ages to get there and it being obvious where the ball is travelling. He can be good, especially if he makes a good save early up, it feeds his confidence and he invariably plays well thereafter. He's not going to play for a better club, in my opinion. No way would Juventus be seriously interested, surely?!

It was a sexy game like!

Let's face it, we just haven't been the same team since Cabaye left. We've suffered in all areas and confidence is at a low.

Worst thing about Krul for me is his kicking and his propensity to kick when there is no need. Colo looks bewildered at times. Even Pards/Carver/Woodman can be regualrly seen screaming at him. I think he is a bit of a flapper too, he didn't used to be.

I try not to be too harsh because you have to remember in keeping terms, he is still youngish. 90% of keepers are better post 30yr old. Its not rocket science. Decision making gets better as you get older because you have seen situation many times before and learn from them. That is not to say you can't pick younger keepers. The likes of Seaman, Shilton, Clemence, Southall all played regularly from a tender age. They made mistakes but the game was more forgiving then without all the cameras. Also they didn't have to deal with silly footballs.

I'm not sure Krul is top class yet. At 26 though, he is probably about to become very good with a bit nurutring of his talent.

Why is Elliot getting hate for Kruls form? WTF

Elliots done well when he was asked to do a job.

Krul is young. Shotstopping is bout reflexed, often young keepers are good at shotstopping, but learning the game, when to come, when to stay thats experience and it takes time for them to learn.

I think we should stick with Krul unless we get a daft offer for him.

He's 26 and it would be perfect irony for him to 'learn his trade' with us and then go on to be a top 'keeper elsewhere!
