    What do we all think?

    Is 6 months long enough?

    Is it too long?

    Should he have been banned?

Imo it's the right thing to do, not THAT long a ban but shows that they mean business when it comes to missing, failing drugs tests.

    What do you think?

Right amount IMO cause he admitted it straight away and it was hardly like he was on roids so I think its justice done

I genuinely don't think he took performance enhancing drugs, so I think it shouldn't be a ban. If the evidence was there that he had deliberately done it, it would be the right amount of time, if not too short

Too short I say. Some athletes that have tested positive for drugs have been banned for life. Why always different rules for footballers. <doh>

In the past people have been found to have been incorrectly judged so a life ban is unfair if this is the case

Should have had 8 months, and not convinced that 3 of them should be in the off season.

Too long imo. He's been out of football for yonks now. I think that's good enough.

He didn't purposely take performance enhancing drugs. He took a diet pill from his wife to try and keep his weight down.

Actual effects on performance = zero

If he'd done something decent like crack, then I'd say it's about right. But taking his wife's slimming aids? The ***got should be banned for life.

I agree and he should have been banned for stupidity considering he has the best gyms and doctors at his disposal.

Right amount of time as far as I'm concerned.

Second offence is burning at the stake.

When you consider all the specialist help he has at his disposal, taking a pill that contains banned substances is puerile stupidity - I don't believe that anyone in his position could honestly be as stupid when it's his career at stake. Call me cynical but I think there is more to this than is being let out.

Top team favouritism from the FA? never.

The ban is too short IMO, didnt Ferdinand get banned for 8 months just for missing a drugs test?

and for three of the months there's no football anyway <yikes>. That's like banning someone from sunbathing, but only during the night. The ban should at least be for 6 months of season time.
