Just forewarning you all, in the unlikely event that Tintin ever comes back under that username (probably if we start losing again, which we doubtless will at some point), I'm going to be issuing him with some forceful combined reproductive and travel based advice. Please don't be upset.

People are funny eh? I mean why not come back and say "hey, turns out, what do I know!" Then everyone says fair point mate, we're all clueless, and moves on. I'm sure he'd feel better for it too. But hey ho. Pride is a strange, silly thing.

What I don't understand is that he is a Saints fan. We are doing well. He doesn't post. I don't get that???

He has some very good views on football and often expresses a good understanding of the game, so it is a shame he felt he had to disappear. I think he struggles in two way communication. He just seems to have an inability to hold a debate without abusing someone in some manner, or to even believe there are any shades between black and white. Statistically I can prove that without lying. :)

Exactly. I'd be delighted to be wrong under these circumstances as first off I'm a Saints fan.

How's this for a theory? (with absolutely no basis in fact, but don't let that put you off): Tintin is actually The Southampton FC press office, and they are testing the water with regards to Saints fans, to find out how many of us really are happy clappy, sandal-wearing, card-carrying Saints fans, through thick and thin. By posting deliberately negative opinions, they stir up the fans to be even more positive.
A perfect example of this was Saints going down to ten men yesterday - The Northam End realised that the '12th man' that is the crowd was now the 11th man, and sang even louder. This also gave the fans the excuse to sing "Ten men, we've only got ten men" to the departing West Ham supporters, none of whom could walk properly, due to the bubbles stuck up their collective a**es.

Tintin hasn't been banned has he? Shame if he has, even though he does take rudeness to new levels. It's the internet, I don't think rudeness counts in quite the same way on there.

Tbf six games ago there was a lot to be negative about. Thank God that suddenly everything is coming up roses.

I actually think the sending off yesterday masked a poor performance - but as others have explained the issue with no one occupying the space in front of the dms I don't need to whinge about it.

Koeman had a great deal to do with that upturn in form (along with big Fraser's return), he changed the system and personnel, recognising that the team needed to be more solid at the back. Now we have had 5 clean sheets in a row, that's not luck or providence, it is down to good coaching and organisation.

No, he really hasn't. No idea why he hasn't been around since, well, since we started winning again!

Not understanding the Ranieri comparison. From his career it seems he is the right person for English Football.

In Ranieri's four seasons Chelsea improved their points total season on season. The core of the Chelsea team which won two Premier League titles under Mourinho, including John Terry, William Gallas, Wayne Bridge, Claude Makélélé and Frank Lampard were all brought to Chelsea or nurtured by Ranieri. During his final months at Chelsea, Ranieri also identified Didier Drogba and Arjen Robben as players Chelsea should sign, both of whom went on to become key players at the club.

Fair point. But I'm not sure he was considered a wholesale success at Chelsea.

That maybe slightly dangerous and over the top to suggest he is a [word deleted] given the only prognosis has come via how someone has generally engaged in a football forum.

I am not sure of the merit in posting that...

But most people other than Abramovich saw a team that went from mid table Prem side to top 6 to top 2. He built Mourinho's side. Mourinho added the players Ranieri was going to buy and won the title. When Ranieri's name was mentioned when Adkins was sacked or was it when Poch jumped ship I was very enthusiastic about him while others were warbling on about Benitez. Did Ranieri have interviews here?
