Not even on the bench today and no reports he's injured. Rumours that he's off to Derby for up to £14m. So much for the 'we wont sell him to another Championship club' statement a couple of weeks ago. Did they think fans would forget so soon ???? I sincerely hope LJ has a Plan B and someone else lined up if this comes to pass !!!
14 million (per BEP) is excellent business for the club......IF we have a replacement ready to sign. It would be nothing short of a disaster if we sell and don't bring anyone else in. We can't use loans anymore. Major, major problems may lie ahead.
It's been too sweet and rosy and the love-in will sour quickly if we start reverting to our old tried and not so good ways. I have been expecting Kodjia to leave since last season and am surprised he has stuck around this long TBH but if the price is right then get rid of him. It sounds like he might have thrown his toys out of the pram when he saw Tammy arrive rather than an opportunity to hitch a ride on a star to enhance his career. We've seen it all before with another one like Anthony and, like that incident, it makes me mad to know we get treated this way by players earning more money than sense at a club that quite frankly aren't in the same luxury division as some of the others. Please don't let this situation rot and fester because we need a cure now and not promises of what might be.
Not sure what your point is? Mike seem to think we would get 27k I simply said there would be no chance of that because of the reduced capacity
I always believed that the revisions to the stadium would give us a capacity of about 27,000 and yet we seem to be saying that it is only 22,000 and a sell out (as today) takes us below 22,000 - why? Are there serious issues with the completed work that have to be addressed before we are allowed 27,000 in the seats or is it all smoke and mirrors? Two big matches did not reach the expected attendance based on the claims being made prior to stadium redevelopment.
Yes Mike, it's smoke and mirrors, that top tier is just an illusion. Or maybe the ground is not even been rebuilt they've just convinced us hard enough to believe it's been done and soon we will all wake up in the old Eastend. Or just maybe the safety certificate has not been signed off. Now I'm not a betting man but I would think it's something to do with evacuation procedures.
It was the exact same when we opened the South stand last year, it was reduced capacity for a few games, shock horror
But he also said in that statement "unless he becomes detrimental to the squad". I heard he refused to warm up on Tuesday night and Johnson said his head ain't in the right place. So I suppose the "detrimental" word is coming into affect. Or maybe we don't see Derby as competition this season But from what I've heard is now the first bid has come in maybe there is more than one club interested so it might gee them into action.
Maybe, or maybe the safety of 5000 fans up there are worth concern about. You wouldn't be too happy if something happened and someone close to you in there, and something was ignored by the safety certificate issuer. But the facts remain that there are 27000 seats in the ground, not 22500 so no smoke and mirrors.
Just heard it's a few bids with Sunderland, Hull, Palace and Derby but it's only the Derby one announced.
