Whoever would have thought a 24 kid would come in and revolutionize our club, where more seniors have tried and failed.
It’s a very promising start mate, but the main thing I am going to judge him on is where we are at the end of the season. Anything but promotion is failure.
But that's the million dollar question though - did they try? The last owners didn't and Short although put money in, it was spent in the wrong places with no thought. There was no real way of doing things behind the scenes - it was "it's the way its always been done, we'll keep on doing it". They did try it with De Fanti but having an agent runs things was the totally wrong approach
You say that, but Stewart Donald got blamed when we didn’t go up. I personally think it’s the managers responsibility, but they are the ones who appoint them.
Are you totally incapable of discussing a topic without a negative take on things? The OP posted regarding about how KLD has invested in the club and your reply is regarding failure FFS. How about actually discussing what has been invested or maybe what you would like to see within the stadium for example
As has been said by many other people, on many other threads, in order to have lasting success, you have to have solid foundations. Therefore, the proper establishment of those foundations is the only true measure of success for us this season. Promotion may, or may not, come alongside that.
Stewart Donald was rightly blamed, he deserves to be. To date KLD has improved all aspects of the club structure and team improvement for the future. None of us know how things will work out in the long term but I know who I prefer to be in charge of our future going forward.
Donald took money out of the club, failed to keep Maja, appointed a dinosaur and signed Grigg. He got away light with his pelters.
this is the thing though mate, despite our 'big club' mentality or history or even facilities we ARE a division 3 club right now and have no automatic right to promotion...and, as we have all seen in this league, anyone can do well with a good run and as fans, we are appreciating the work that has gone on so far especially from a young lad that some had written off afore he got his feet under the table. we all want that promotion but this season is all about starting the right way and so far KLD and the club appear to be doing just that, getting those solid foundations in place, should promotion happen this season i will jump about as much as my health will allow me because we all know we should be higher in the leagues...'failure' at this present time, in my opinion, would be doing exactly the same as Short and Donald and throwing good money after bad but this lad has a plan and is not going to be swayed and i have to say that so far it is working quite well.
