If I were Kit I would take the next year or two to travel around looking at how managers in the UK and overseas work. I think history will look on his time more fondly.

With the fans, if he steps down then I think any bad feeling would disappear but if he digs in then it might sour further. It can't be easy facing up to the fact he isn't ready for the job but he needs to do it and take steps for the future if he wants another go at the top job elsewhere.

It's been said that the lackluster performances the team has been playing recently shows knowing Kit doesn't have the future backing on the Board, and that players have gone into their comfort zone. You have to wonder a team that can put in a decent fighting performance against Derby then seem to show little interest even when faced with relegation.

Does this sound like a man on the way out … ??

“Fulham boss Kit Symons would love to spend the club’s £40million parachute money in a bid to build a winning squad for next season. However, the Whites boss admits he is hamstrung by Financial Fair Play rules, which in essence prohibits clubs forking out more than they earn. Symons and Whites are fearful penalties that might hit QPR should the neighburs get relegated will be their lot too if they overspend.

The Fulham manager said: “Financial fair play will play a part. “There was money available in January. But I didn’t want to spend money now that kept us up but didn’t work out longer term. I looked at options and they weren’t available; it was an educated gamble that paid off, but I predict a busy time in the summer. Because of financial fair play we’d have to work within a budget, and there will be quite a few comings and goings.”

Ross McCormack’s £11m acquisition last summer drew gasps and criticism aplenty, but Symons admits he is ready to spend the same again on one player if needs be. He added: “I'm not ruling out spending that type of money, but it would have to be really good value for the football club.”

Also in his column on the official website yesterday Tony Gale said,

”Looking back at this season, it’s not been the best for Fulham, we know that. I think it’s fortunate that we got ourselves out of problems that plagued us at the start and reacted quickly enough to get ourselves out of the mess that we were in. But we’ve got to learn lessons. Kit will have a lot of help from Alan Curbishley and Mike Rigg, the new Chief Football Officer, in the summer. Those three boys will sit down and target players in the positions that need strengthening and go and get the players that we want. We need to set our targets and go and get them.”

Oh dear... hopefully it is just to fill the pages...

Basically this confirms how inept he is. Getting a couple of players in January that will play for some time and be ready for next year is something that can't be done! Well done Kit... You are proving day by day that you have no clue... Not even the fact that we are safe only by luck!
