    I have a Greek friend who has just txt me from over there, to say we have been mentioned as being after this lad.

    Sotirios Kirgiakos. 32 year old Greek international central defender, who currently plays for Wolfsburg.

    He played 30 games for Liverpool and 40 games for rangers and has over 60 full caps.

    I have no confirmation but he has heard this back in Greece?

    Interesting?

    Sky Sports understands Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is closing on a deadline day move for former Liverpool defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos. The Greek centre-half is currently on the books of Wolfsburg.

    Sorry about being negative (again) today, but this fella is no better than what we have got. Infact, I would go so far as to say he is worse than what we have got.

    Bramble out, Brown out. Maybe MON just doesn't rate the same players as me. Richardson and Turner.

    Brown = Injured
    Killgallon = Injured
    Bramble = Court Case soon i believe
    laing out on loan

    Leaves Turner and O`Shea as our CBs for the next 3-4 weeks.

    We need someone in, and obiously MON thinks this lad is the answer.

    We have already got Bridge btw.

    I guess the injuries to Brown, Kilgallon and Bramble mean we need a CB, is he on loan?

    Where are the rumours about a striker!

    This "no better than what we have" rubbish is stupid. January is never a time to sign players for improvement as everything is so overpriced. That's why you get what you "need" in January and sign the improvements in the summer.

    Do we need a left back? Yes
    Do we need a centre half? Yes

    What is O'Neill doing? Getting what we need for next to nothing instead of paying stupid money

    These 2 may not be the world beaters we all want but they are certainly 2 positions we needed to get someone

    Another stop gap as cover so can't see any problem here.
    Wouldn't be my first choice like others have said, but the injuries make it a smart move.

    Depends on Coyles luck with QPR....Coyle using the same cryptic words to describe the "no go" situation....seemingly QPR & Bolton "apart" on their valuations......
