He mentioned that Hugill was too expensive, Roberts too expensive, Marriot too expensive which I think we all agree is a fact. However when pressed he said we look at players and we take a calculated gamble, so it may be that 1 of those 3 players joins us or indeed someone nobody has heard of ...... For me the calculated gamble is firstly is it for now or for the future, and we have seen that demonstrated already. However if you bring a player in in January for the first team the gamble must be: Capable of immediate impact Fitness history Is he a team player Is he what we need or have been missing Will his value increase.
