Depends what CH can bring out of him. Some players work well and can improve with certain coaches and managers. I think all of the squad will be assessed for what they can provide before anyone is offloaded. However all that being said given our plethora of midfielders then this is the place we would expect to see some departures and I suppose that of the names on the list Crofts is most liklely to be plying his trade elsewhere next season.
Crofts plays pretty well for Wales who shove 5 in midfield. He only has one job to do and is competent at that. And we was competent against Celtic but had Johnson alongside him to help out. I'm not so sure he is up to Prem standard as a key central midfielder in a four man midfield. But as with Lappin, you have to have guys who will wait their turn. If he was called on I doubt he would let us down but is not going to be a game changer.
Sadly, I think Crofts is slightly out of his depth in the PL. His contribution to our promo from the Championship should not be overlooked (especially THAT goal against Barnsley and his brace against the Blades) but I think it could be in his, and the clubs, best interest if he was to move on as I can't see him (bar injuries to other players) being in the first team that often, nor on the bench if I'm honest and that wouldn't be good fror Crofts. Releasing him would free up a squad space and wages which could be utilised better elsewhere. Sorry Crofty
Crofts to Brighton would be good for everyone. He a bit out of his depth here and we need space in the 25 plus money is always nice. Croft would be first team again in a team he already has a relationship with and brighton get a top class championship player.
