Just for once a week has passed
Since we last had a game,
Time then to alter the cast
With one gone, while one came

    Turner, quite surprisingly
Has gone out on a loan,
    Neil, interestingly
    Prefers Cuellar at home

But with Bassong fit and well
    And playing as he can,
Our CB´s had begun to swell
Too much to fit the plan

    Bennett R is also close
    To pushing for a place,
    So, that Michael Turner chose
    To go, opens a space

Whether with a view to buy
Is not yet clear to me,
But we´re not left high and dry
So good luck on his spree

    My reaction when I heard
    That GK coach, Kiely,
    Was now a fully-fledged bird
    Was one of expectancy

    Surprised though, that although near
    Since the Blackburn game away,
He was first confirmed as here
    Only the other day

    Hopefully both parties now
More than like what they´ve seen,
And he helps our keepers show
They can keep their sheets clean

    A small matter tomorrow
    Of S. McClaren´s Rams,
    Despite their form being low
    No sacrificial lambs

    Not necessarily ´must win´
    But without doubt ´don´t lose´,
The margins may just be thin
    So don´t expect a cruise

Will we, won´t we, see Martin
    The Chris variety,
Without him to bang them in
    They lose some potency

But I think we´ll edge it, just
    At least I´m hoping so,
    Any scoreline, I´m not fussed
Just get three points to show. OTBC - INIT

I wondered where you had been RBF, another excellent effort if I may say. I agree that today will be tight and nervy but potentially a massive game as a win would dent the Rams hopes further and their confidence woudl start to falter. I say this in hope but it could be the other way around quite easily.

THURNBY - I know I said I think we´ll just edge it, but I´ve predicted a 1 - 1 on the prediction leagues, as I´m far from sure. Derby may have had some slightly poor results of late but their performances haven´t been that bad, and they´ll know how important this one is, I´m a sure a draw would be an acceptable result for them.

In other matters, I see that ´Boro are just ahead of our neighbours, or they were when last I looked <ok>

Indeed 3-1 which looks more or less all over. I would be O.K. with a draw today but that could end up being a bad weekend of everything goes against us. I know I am repeating certain things, but have you ever known a tighter season where the top 5 are covered by a point. To me this is far outweighing a typical premiership season.

I can understand how some people will find an exciting Championship season, like this one, where we are in contention at the very top, to be far more ínteresting and enjoyable than an average Premier League season, where for the most part we are only there trying to survive. But strangely, that side of things is what intrigues me the most, pitting ourselves against the best when we have no realistic chance of winning, and proving people wrong. I think it´s important to be mentally prepared for the PL and to realise that at least a third of the matches we´re more than likely to lose, some people just can´t accept that, but that is, and will probably be for quite a while, the unsavoury fact, I´m afraid.

I´d take a season like that any time, even over one as exciting as this, because the longer we stay down here, the less often a season like this is likely to occur.

That is the counter-argument RBF and if I may, say very well articulated. It is he 'not getting promoted' aspect that is the nub of the argument and where I have to agree with you. I guess in simple terms as a one-off season this has and is a cracker but you would not want this for say 3 or 4 years in succession. Is that a fair point of agreement?

Yes, absolutely - and we were right to be slightly unsure about this one today :(

I have to say I'm enjoying this season immensely, despite the fact that I can almost never see us live because there are so few streams now. But I take the point that we will become less and less competitive with each season outside of the Prem as the good players leave and we have to cut our cloth to fit our circumstances.

I figure we need to win six out of the last nine games. That would seem to be enough, assuming we don't lose to Middlesbrough. Although they look exactly like the kind of side we struggle against at home. They look to be by far the strongest defensive outfit in this league. If we don't go up, there is only place where we look for the reason - dropping home points in matches we have dominated. From the reports it seems like Brentford are the only team to outplay us at CR this season, and yet we have the worst home form of the promotion candidates. Even Ipswich have done better!

If we do go up, I'm very excited, though. Seeing how AN copes with the Prem would be very like the feeling of the first Lambert season.

Have to say that I agree with all of that singapore, EXCEPT that I will only really have enjoyed this season if we get promoted. :)
