As much as Newcastle fans loved Barton and Nolan when they were together there, once both had left Newcastle started to actually play well again. They were buddies together then and probably a bad influence on others around them. Now just as we seem to have gained a more mature Barton, I fear Nolan would be the catalyst to send our Joey down the wrong path again. I hope this turns out to be untrue, especially after what happened with Nolan at the weekend and a couple of weeks before that, he seems to be in the frame of mind that Barton was on that fateful day at City.
And it's a NO from me as well.......Used to be a decent player but now just living on past reputation and kicking players....
Midfield is an area where apart from Barton haven't really been performing & with Carroll gone + Ale's injury think a loan until the end of the season would be a good option.
It's a definite yes from me provided it's either a six month loan or eighteen month contract max. I don't want anything more than that. Nolan is a good player and fully committed week in and week out. He's as tough as old boots and IMO he would bring steel to our midfield which we have been missing. I think several of our midfielders are physically lightweight and I'm including Barton in that. IMO, he would be a great short term addition. We've tried the youth with Carroll, now let's try the proven player.
