Exactly mate. News International (bizarrely the British subsidiary of News Corporation) own the Times Group and the S*n and the old NotW. Therefore, we're not just being paranoid if we point out an anti-Liverpool bias in certain parts of the media. I thought everyone knew this- a timely reminder that not everyone's as old as me and dave.
Do you watch any of his other interviews or just what the scumbags Skysports show? So many people seem to only watch Skysports and it irritates me. Go watch his BBC interview instead. That's the true Kenny and how he does his interviews. Considering he was talking to Sky, the company owned by the same twats who produce the news of the world, the same twats who produced the S*N with their appalling articles on Hillsborough AND the reporter was the sexist Burton who miraculously managed to keep his job AND there's the loaded question to Brad Jones about his 'pointing up to the sky' celebration knowing full well that he'd get a great headline about his son's tragic death...Tits the lot of them. So yeah, if he comes across as rude to them, I dont' give a ****. They should be thankful he even talks to them. Even then, I did watch it and it's nowhere close to being a bad interview. It's fine. Nothing great, nothing awful.
To be fair, some on here say RatBoy does a decent job. I wouldn't know because I don't subscribe to Sky. I watch games in a pub that uses (ahem) foreign channels and so never see the post match autopsies.
To be fair, it looked like he saw someone he knew and went to shake their hand more than anything...I could be wrong on that though
It's not the media thing I'm pointing out Saint, it's Bazs comments of 'Gary Neville is using Sky for media propaganda which is why Kenny is sticking two fingers up at them'' - bollocks. If it was the media / Murdoch thing then fair enough, although other interviews with Sky would suggest it isn't this but to claim it's in repsonse to Neville using Sky as media pro United propaganda then most Liverpool fans I speak to on here will admit that is absolute bollocks.
Not read all the comments but saw a snipet about biasedness towards Man Utd and Gary Neville's name too. IMO, Gary Neville has been the exact opposite to what I expected. I thought he would be annoying, biased in favour of Man Utd, biased against Liverpool and Man City and generally a poor (due to being a novice) pundit. However, he is very good at what he does and I don't believe he shows any bias towards or against any side, he acts professionally. PS - I'm going for thirteen baths and seven showers now. Will have to judge if thats enough afterwards...
I missed your response whilst writing my own so it doesn't really relate to yours Eric. A lot of commentators do seem to favour Utd, but given their success over the past 20 years it's hardly surprising. I do think though, that in Murdoch media circles there is antagonism towards LFC over their Hillsborough coverage. The problem is if we mention this we are always accused of being paranoid or oversensitive and playing the victim. For those of us old enough to remember the events this gets very annoying.
You're misunderstanding me. If Kenny is rude to them due to their assocaition with past events then that's his choice and I don't really have an opinion on that. But Baz blaming Kennys being rude on that fact that Sky are pro United via Gary Neville Come on.
"to treat the media with the respect they deserve but potentially damaging the club in the process." Yes, by snarling and snapping (better still, completely ignoring) the media -especially NI- Kenny is giving the tw@ts respect they do indeed deserve. And for those who say that Hillsborough is irrelevant, no it's not - the same papers, and journalists in some cases, have never forgiven Kenny for not wading into the immediate, police-inspired cover-up /condemnation of our fans, and then being proved RIGHT by the Taylor Report.
Couldn't give a **** what people think of him or think of Liverpool. Who wants other fans to like us anyway?
Baz can blame whoever he wants, that's his opinion. I happen to think Neville is a good pundit, for what it's worth, but Sky as a whole deserve whatever they get.
I don't know why everyone is so outraged ffs. Have they not seen baz on the banter thread? In other news, water is wet.
For what its worth, I think that Kenny could have handled that interview yesterday better. I think he does try to be witty and sharp. But to non Liverpool fans he come across as surly ill tempered and agressive. I am not sure what the best solution is: does he do some media/interview training? I remember when he gave the interviews during the Suarez incident. We as fans did not see much wrong but many non -liverpool fans and many non football people told me that they were not very impressed with his interviews.
