Got to be Paddy for me. I think he's a better keeper and he communicates with the defenders more. Cerny was brilliant against Liverpool though, so fair dues to him.
If traore got injured tomorrow and was out for three games and Hill came in and played well for those 3 games, who would you want playing when Traore was back fit?. The answer is simple and it's Traore. Why? Because we all know despite Hills honesty and effort, Traore is simply a better player. Its the same in every position, maybe even more so in Goal as it is a specialist position. Ask yourself who is the better keeper. Simple answer is, Paddy. No arguement.
not really a fair comparison, the difference in ability between hill and traore is a lot greater than kenny and cerny. it wasn't that long ago he was keeping robinson out of the spurs side. think people have been a bit quick to criticise cerny on here (yes i remember leeds), he's still a decent keeper.
Fair point, the comparison may not be great, but the point stands, you play your best players when fit. If Paddy is fit he must play, he is the better keeper.
Voted earlier, first to vote for Kenny (1 to 4 at the time) and didn't dare to post Theres a reason why it's called 1st choice keeper. Kenny didn't play himself out of the team, he got injured and no matter how well his replacement has played he should be straight back in the team when fit. It's every teams most important position and Kenny is our #1, end of.
agree kenny is better, but well pleased for cerny turning in that performance against liverpool when everyone doubted him. glad it's not my call!!
Sub Keepers rarely have a chance to take the No 1 jersey so when they do come in and perform very well they deserve to hold onto the shirt IMO. Maybe Kenny won't injure his arse so easily next time
This thread just about sums this forum up. Someone has one good game and they are a world beater, they have a bad game and they are crap. If fit Kenny has to play, Cerny is not better than Paddy based on one game.
From what I saw last weekend, I would say Cerny. Someone else beat me to it but unless Kenny is truly fit, I wouldn't like to chance reinjury (if that's a word). When he first went for treatment he was expected to be gone for 6-8 weeks - if he makes himself worse, on this game, we will be in trouble. So Cerny gets my vote for the ManU game, but there's no doubt I'd like to see Kenny back and the sooner the better
Maple, agreed. If passed fit Paddy must play. If he is not 100%, rhen Cerny stays in goal until paddy is ready. If both fit, it's a no-brainer.
Kenny's THE Rs keeper. Cerny's an understudy who happens to have played well and avoided ridicule. Kenny fit, Kenny in in my book.
Surprised at the preference for Cerny. Paddy has a lot more to do this season, and has done well against a better class of attack. If fit... has to be Paddy for me
