Not the fans favourite right now but would like to ask your opinions on his previous loan spell at the Brit. Did he impress? Was there signs of laziness back then? Are you surprised of his (so far) failure? Your thoughts welcome.
He was raw, had a bit of talent but I wasn't too impressed. Now I just think he's a bone idle, useless twat.
Jury out for me. Some are giving him a hard time for his work rate, which is fair. Watching him over the past few matches the service has been rubbish and when he has been on the pitch he has hardly had a cross worthy of the name. Against WBA he was held down every time he tried to jump. Mixture of laziness and very poor service. If the service was better I honestly think he would be a real handful
Personally I just think it's nothing more than the TP demoralisation process that our strikers go through......... Kitson, Beattie, Tuncay, Jones, Eidur and now Ric. Strikers are only happy when they are scoring goals and TP does not line up his team to score goals. He will be another broken spirit being off loaded at a huge loss just like the rest have!
Tend to agree Waddo - Jones looked a much happier, harder working forward when we were putting quality balls in from the wings and he was scoring ... now it's more down the middle again he looks lost and demoralised.
Do you buy forwards for their work rate or their goals? Obviously you can point out that he has neither at the moment but I don't understand why fans can get so annoyed at their strikers if they don't defend.
I thought he did well in his first spell reason being he wanted to impress as you do when you're an up and coming player. Yes I am annoyed that he doesn't work as hard as other strikers but to be honest the service he's getting is very poor, if we had Jamie O'Hara we'd be in a much better position and the majority of the support wouldn't be complaining as O'Hara is a very under-rated midfielder.
Kenwynne is annoying when he's standing round doing nothing, same as Ric, only difference it Fuller can get the ball and make something of it himself when he's going for it. Jones looked a lot better against West Brom than he has for a while, he was getting about the place and going for the ball, but keeping up the work rate is hard when you're carrying a defender on your back half the time.
Don't want him defending necessarily Robin - except probably at corners - but the lad was working really hard in and around the opposition box earlier in the season - to get on the end of crosses and to put defenders under pressure, which all forwards should do ..... now he's lost it ... at the same time as the team as a whole have lost the way we were playing - no co-incidence in my book, the 2 are related.
I think it speaks volumes when we bring in a guy called j carew and even he has to do KJ s workrate ... on monday we took JC off and left KJ on what a poor move !!!! it left us with nobody to hold the ball up in a system which is VITAL .. Can you believe we are saying this about a 6ft 5 man whom your 6 yr old could bully ! Its very clear that his confidence is low but come on work the socks off and gain respect ! I cant tell u how big a let down this fella has been to the point where it has really hurt the club .. An ã8 mill pound signing for Stoke !!!!!! Thats right 8 mill and lets be fair at the moment he is without doubt the worst Stoke player on the pitch ! That sums it up That s why we are struggling to find any form although TP s system dont help.. Dont look any further or we are telling our own stories So so dissapointed
KJ does infuriate sometimes with his perceived lack of effort. However,Im not convinced that the KJ,Carew partnership is ideal. They are too similar in many respects and Carew appears to have grasped the hold up man role, leaving KJ trying to play in a different way, which is of course foreign to him.I think KJ or Carew should start with Fuller to add more balance to the attack. The problem for the manager is that although Carew is playing better than KJ he appears to be a short term option, as apposed to KJ who is long term and I guess he doesnt want to demoralise KJ by continually leaving him out.
Agreed about Carew and Jones being too similar, which is annoying, as that's apparently the reason Tuncay and Fuller never got played together. . .
I think Tunny and Fuller did play together once that I can remember, I think it was Wigan at home last season, 2-2, and it was a pretty decent game from what I remember.
Don't know if that's the same game I'm thinking of, I saw a match where one of them came on as a sub, and for that 20 minutes I thought we looked really good, and was expecting to see them both start next match, and it never happened.
